Re: World Cup 2011 (II)
Meaning to target their own bus rather than the Windies one doesn't make it any better. Distinct lack of refinement among sub-continent fans continues.

Lankans elect to bat and go with three spinners. No surprises there.

The Aussie cricketers making friends in Sri Lanka already, I see.
Lots of pent up anger in this Aussie team. Probably weren't hugged enough as kids.

"Mustafa Kamal"
if you want to cross the desert.
"Gilly was grouse!!!!!!!!!! "
I concur. To think ... he was also able to keep wicket. Amazing.

So basically it is looking as though Bangladesh will need to beat either England or South Africa to get through. The former's not impossible...

SL will find it tough to get something competitive here now, Sangakkara has to stick around and get a hundred otherwise they will be well out of it.
They're looking less convincing as time goes on, heavily reliant on two batsmen and their seam attack looked rather toothless against Pakistan. At the moment it's looking like third in the group and a likely QF showdown with India.

Duckworth and Lewis have been underworked in this tournament so far... we're due a rain-related twist or two.

Re: World Cup 2011 (II)
So, how do we see the quarter-final line-up looking at this stage? At the moment I'd say:
A1 Aus v B4 Eng (or Ban/Ire)
A2 Pak v B3 WI
A3 SL v B2 Ind
A4 NZ v B1 SA
Would be some interesting ties there...

3-129 off 30 overs, with the scoring really drying up.
what's a good score on this wicket (if the rain stays away)?

Perhaps another fizzer of a match. This tournament seemed doomed to do nothing positive for cricket.

NR probably a decent result for SL at that stage, still keeps them in with a chance of a top two place with how unpredictable Pakistan are.

So much cricket of late has been rained out in SL. Not a great venue for the WC.
