So basically it is looking as though Bangladesh will need to beat either England or South Africa to get through. The former's not impossible...

SL will find it tough to get something competitive here now, Sangakkara has to stick around and get a hundred otherwise they will be well out of it.

They're looking less convincing as time goes on, heavily reliant on two batsmen and their seam attack looked rather toothless against Pakistan. At the moment it's looking like third in the group and a likely QF showdown with India.

Rain threatening ...

Duckworth and Lewis have been underworked in this tournament so far... we're due a rain-related twist or two.

Crazy can certainly turn the ball ...

So, how do we see the quarter-final line-up looking at this stage? At the moment I'd say:

A1 Aus v B4 Eng (or Ban/Ire)
A2 Pak v B3 WI
A3 SL v B2 Ind
A4 NZ v B1 SA

Would be some interesting ties there...

NR probably a decent result for SL at that stage, still keeps them in with a chance of a top two place with how unpredictable Pakistan are.

So much cricket of late has been rained out in SL. Not a great venue for the WC.
