Looks like another enthralling one-sided contest coming up. SL 0-147 batting first v Bots off 25 overs. Druggy Dilshan is powering along like he's on speed. Well played him.

Still England remain the only side with the good manners and proper upbringing to encourage the little guys by throttling back a bit.
For shame, everyone else. For shame.

Re: World Cup 2011 (II)
Lanka have throttled back - they're pretty much a run a ball with 9 wickets in hand.
Re: World Cup 2011 (II)
Anyone know what is the highest first wicket partnership record please? I would look it up but this naked DSL is slower than dial up at the moment.

Is there a case for always making the minnowish sides bat last? At least you'll probably get a full 50-over first innings that way, and get to see the better side getting lots of runs. Also, there's still the possibility of another match like the Eng/Ireland one.

No, on reflection that's a daft idea. Sorry.ever hopeful wrote:Is there a case for always making the minnowish sides bat last? I know its the daily mail, but dear oh dear.
Not only do they think we are planning on keeping Yardy in the side, they're talking up Tredwell as being a chance (oh and Prior opening again)

My word, it's like we're masochistic. I bet Flower will be cheese-grating his scrotum whilst watching the Mighty Banglas smash us all over the shop.

At least Vaughan has the right idea - from his last tweet

No-one would be as foolish as to put IB in with AS!

If he's saying PC at four, then he's no sage. He's a numbnutted window licker.
Unless he means Patsy Cline. Then he's just weird. Or Craaayzeee...

Please no! 15 powerplay balls he'll either block or shoulder arms to. 15 more powerplay balls will be half-volleys that'll be clipped for singles.
That's 2.5s for 5 overs FFS!
