Re: Formula One 2011
god I hope Melbourne does not have to suffer another year of this bogan fest.....the mosquito whining was incessant like mudge or RD posts...I hope that Boffa hands over heaps of moola to F1 to take it away from Melbourne.
The spivs could combine F1 with the mardi gras...that would lighten up both events

Lewis Hamilton is giggling. Webber will be looking for another gig next year.WideWally wrote:FFS

Re: Formula One 2011
Webber once again given a car that didn't bloody work by Red Bull. Did a wonderful job to finish fourth despite being without KERS (and seemingly DRS) for the duration of the race.
He probably got more TV coverage then Vettel, so Red Bull wins both ways.

Poor old Hamilton's race of going backwards carried on long after the chequered flag when he was penalised a place for Alonso running into the back of him.

It's all the car's fault you know......
There's a big conspiracy to deny Webber any decent results by Red Bull, because they pay him $10 million a year despite not liking him and they couldn't give a toss about the Constructor's Championship. It's all about bringing down that ghastly Mark Webber.

It was pretty funny to see Hamilton slagging off Weber for sooking after getting beat in the first GP and then displaying his own sore grapes after this one.

Re: Formula One 2011
Webber seems like a nice guy in his interviews but it's pretty clear that he and his 'camp' have started up a whispering campaign suggesting that Red Bull see him as very much the number two driver to Vettel.
If it is true, and they see him as number two, then he needs to accept that, or join a smaller team who will have him as their number one. The fact is, that despite Vettel seeming like something of a cocky little sh*t, he's younger, and more talented than Webber.

Re: Formula One 2011
There's no doubt Red Bull sees Webber as a number two driver. The sad part was last year when Webber was leading the campionship, they gave preferential treatment to Vettel, when both were supposed to be on equal terms.
Of course, why Webber then re-signed with Red Bull suggests he ain't really that sharp. But he does come from Queanbeyan, which is the home of some intellectual giants...

Re: Formula One 2011
Its probably better to be treated as the number two driver in the fastest car ....than be number one driver in a slower car ..

This must be getting close to Webber's last season anyway. He's about 35 now, isn't he?

Re: Formula One 2011
I only saw the second half of today's Grand Prix but it would probably have to be the most interesting (& close) F1 GP I have seen in a long time.
Hamilton wins from Vettel but a fantastic drive by Webber to grab third after passing heaps of cars in the final stages.

So the conspiracy theory that Webber is being held back by his car can now be put to bed then.

As can the sniping/trolling that the driver is holding up the car.
Some temperamental engine management systems seem to have been the problem in practice ... hard to do better than Webber did, from 18th on the grid. He may not be quite as quick and ruthless as Vettel, but there's not much in it.

Re: Formula One 2011
So what can we expect from Mark today?
2nd to 15th in the first lap?
I think I might have been stuck behind him at some traffic lights on Beaudesert Road last week. Took an age to get mobile.

Re: Formula One 2011
A decade or so back it seemed as if the German and Italian national anthems were one piece of music, so often did we hear them together after a Grand Prix... now it seems the same is going to be true of the German and Austrian ones.
Schumacher really needs to give up though, he's just a liability now. The pace isn't there any more but the reckless streak still is and he just looks like causing crashes, he's only going to further tarnish his reputation. Not all comebacks are advisable.
