I agree, and I hope the 3 blind mice are watching, though that might be a bit much to ask as they are probably in a rum shop laughing at the selection choices they've made.

Cheers, but I think I would take them over Rawl Lewis

And, if they're blind, it's going to be difficult to watch the game without a specially adpated braille-o-vision.

Not that I want to interrupt all this doom-gloom environment and condescension, but the WIndies have more than a decent ODI team.

The selectors are doing their best to ruin our 'decent' ODI side, leaving out Fidel Edwards for no apparent reason, when Zimbabwe are terrible against real pace and have had trouble wwith him in the past.

He took six wickets against them in his debut, didn't he?

Yep, and has been extremely impressive in ODI's recently, a much improved bowler.
Still I must not complain too much, we have the might of Rawl Lewis to throw at the Zimbabweans.

The batting's still world class at ODI level though, having Gayle, Chanderpaul and Sarwan. And batting is more important in ODIs.

I wish, he might even take a wicket if he was.

Sarwan's injured which is a massive blow, particularly in ODI's. Still, Samuels has been doing well in the last 12 months so hopefully he can fill the void.

So...when does the ICC take Test status off the Windies?

As predicted, Zimbabwe defeat the Windies.
I'm sure Richie Benaud would "raise an eyebrow" at the tactics of the West Indian batsmen, particularly after Chanderpaul & Morton had re-established the innings adter the early hiccups.

The batsmen seemed to be batting quite slowly as the last time i checked they needed over 110 from the last 10 overs. Once again, Chanderpaul is the only one that did anything.

Thud.
That was the sound of WIFAN having thrown himself off the nearest tall building.

Anyone who saw the Zimbots in the T20, would realize that they have actually started to put together a solid limited over side.

Re: Zimbabwe v West Indies, 1st ODI, Harare, 30th Nov
I am still here, just.
But that was horrible, no other way to put it.
Bizarre team selection, rusty bowling, uncommitted fielding and a run chase devoid of common sense (especially from Samuels and Morton).
Well played Shiv yet again, he is truly an amazing player. What on earth would we do without him? Lose these sort of matches regularly I expect.
I still expect we will win 4-1 as this will be a huge wake up call, but part of me hopes we continue to struggle and win 3-2 or maybe even lose. I have had enough of foolish selectors and their Rawl Lewis obsession. 0/49 against Zimbabwe FFS. I swear the selectors chose him so that the public will never again call on them to select a spinner.
But congratulations to Zimbabwe, who are definitely improving and at least have all the basics such as running between the wickets and fiedling covered. We could certainly learn from them in that regard.

Rawle Lewis outperformed some of the other bowlers
Hopefully the WI will get better as the tour develops, they are evidently no lnoger good enough to step off the plane and walk all over zimbabwe
