Jeff Jones, father or Simon. 44 wickets at an average of 40. Pretty poor but given the period, clearly the best of a bad bunch. Played 15 Tests.

Pat Pocock, although he barely played cricket in Wales, still a Welshman at heart.
Reports state otherwise.

Shut my mouth - 11 wickets @ 27: he was better than Simon Jones.

Aye, Wally.
Cyril Walters, the first Welshman to captain England, although he only scored 1 Test century averaged 52.26 in 11 consecutive Tests, 21.52 above his fc average. In 1934 he made 401 runs against Australia at an average of 50.13.
Despite playing in every Test of that series, making 4 50s and 3 40s, curiously the selectors did not require his services again.

......... and then there are the Welshmen who got screwed by the England selectors. I guess none got done as cruelly as Alan Jones but you could add Don Shepherd, Emrys Davies, Wilf Wooller, Jim Pressdee, Robert Clayton, Bryn Terfel ........

Careful. Your club could turn into a new south Wales & you really don't want that to happen.

The thread is titled "Best Welshman to play for England (and Wales)".
I don't think anyone was expecting a serious response.

Llewellyn ap Grufydd
Also to extend the thread to Welsh persons didn't the delightful operatic diva Katherine Jenkins get screwed by some bloke when she was a music student in London. Not surprising if she went out looking like this:
Not that I don't believe that rape is a very serious crime which should be punished to the full limit that the law allows, as Ken Clarke might say.
Also, Richard Burton got screwed by Elizabeth Taylor, who was born in London. He was never as good an actor after he met her.
