Surrey sign Jon Lewis
This is so bizarre it deserves its own thread.

Heh. Well done. Bet he's on a bit. Silly in some ways though. He's a dobber bowling on a shirtfront. Average there is pretty bad. Cannon fodder much?
Re: Surrey sign Jon Lewis
Maybe they think they're going to lose Tremlett, Dirtbag and, now he's progressed to the Lions, Meaker for long periods in the coming seasons and... no I still can't explain it.
Jon Lewis. Flipping heck.

Re: Surrey sign Jon Lewis
I thought Surrey were letting Jordan go and Hampshire were talking to him. Letting a 21 year-old go and replacing him with a 36 year-old strikes me as barmy.

Yeah. They've also got another good young fast bowler, Matthew Dunn.
You'd think they'd be able to cobble together a decent attack without resorting to Jon Lewis.

Good luck to Lewis - the next two years should top up his pension quite nicely, but Adams needs his bumps feeling!

Yeah good luck to him. Averages 35 at T'Oval. Not as bad as I thought. But pretty bad. He'll need all the luck he can get.
Re: Surrey sign Jon Lewis
It has been far too long since we were able to say 'Lewis FFS' here. They've done us a favour.

Re: Surrey sign Jon Lewis
This is the same Surrey that wanted to sign a 40-year-old Brian Lara for the T20 competition last year despite him having played no competitive cricket for almost three years.
Some truly bizarre decisions have been made at The Oval in recent times. Incredible really considering that Surrey are the richest County yet they can't cobble together a decent team. I actually thought they were starting to head in the right direction again this season with RHB doing a decent job as young captain, Maynard and Roy coming along nicely with the batting, Dirtbag, Dunne, and Meaker developing nicely as fast bowlers, and Ansari offering some young spinning promise....but Lewis FFS?? FFS.

Surrey are just cementing their place as the laughing stock of the cc. Which is a shame. I miss their 'we're arrogant because we've got shitloads of talent' attitude. Now they've only got the Rampster and then some highlighted saffer youngsters and Millfield chums.
Lewis is bowling against his new club as I type. Magikal.

The batting looks ok on paper- Ramps, RHB, Roy, Maynard, Davies.....
But it's as brittle as anything. The bowling is ok. They have talent. They just under-perform too often.
