I'm not really, I just keep up with most sports and Sky are pushing the fight like nobody's business.

Lara Lara Laughs wrote:Oscar was an idiot. Everytime he threw the jab in that fight, Floyds head snapped back but he chose not to use it most of the time. And I still reckon those Compubox stats were wrong. There's no way that Floyd outlanded him to that degree. A massive amount of Floyd's punches hit DLH's gloves.

The two things against Hatton that you haven't mentioned are:

a) Cuts. His pasty Manc face tends to crack open on occasion and Floyd's likely to hit him in the same spot again and again.

b) The American ref. They're less lenient than the British and because of Ricky's style, I can see him getting pulled back every time he goes inside and it looks like he might be grabbing or pushing.

Hopefully it'll be a classic.

Shocked

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/boxing/7128408.stm -

Meanwhile, Hatton has been backed to beat Mayweather by Oscar de la Hoya, who could fight the Englishman at Wembley Stadium next year.

"Ricky Hatton against Floyd Mayweather is like Roberto Duran against Sugar Ray Leonard and it will be a really entertaining fight," six-weight world champion De la Hoya, who lost to Mayweather in May, told BBC Sport.

"I've told Ricky never to forget about his jab, to keep using it.

"When I fought Floyd, in the fifth, sixth, seventh rounds, when I was using my jab, I had an easy time.

"He's vulnerable against the jab, he's doesn't know how to block them.

"Ricky needs to start everything with the jab and use pressure in a smart way.

WHY DIDN'T YOU FECKING USE IT THEN???!!!

Anyone who says they are better than Ali deserves to be kicked in the balls repeatedly. Unfortunately, I think the more moronic of the two fighters is going to win.

Very good documentary on the Ellis-Michael fight on the ABC the other night ... very interesting even for non-boxing fans.

Floyd sounds more like a boxer.

As the fight draws nearer, the more and more I think that Hatton is going to be obliterated... Mayweather is heavier, taller, quicker and has a longer reach :| .

I'd love to be wrong of course.

Not a boxing fan, but Ricky looks like a bleeder to me.

A plucky, Rocky-style showing from the Brit only for the fight to be stopped with his face all mashed in and gushing.

Tip O' The Day.

Reading the boxing "experts" - it seems that lumping on Mayweather at even money looks the best bet for tonight ... though a tempting 5/1 on Hatton looks tasty !!!

What's the feeling, all you puglists out there ???

My local bookie ... the big three aren't so generous....8/15 ... 4/6 generally on offer.

I'm tempted to go for "the Lever" bet. Bet on the opposition. If your team/man loses, you win some cash. If your team/man wins you're too happy and drunk to care about the money you lost.

There are rules to the Lever bet though.

Never bet if the price is too short, £100 to win £50 - you have to ask yourself is Fairweather that much a favourite to win?
