Re: England v India, 4th Test, The Oval, 18-22 August, 2011
With the fact that Swann has a better career FC high score than Strauss, and that Jimmy very rarely actually comes in at 11 anyway as we would use a nightwatchman to protect Bresnan or Broad when a wicket fell just after lunch, perhaps we should really take the piss and reverse the batting order next time we play...

Business as usual I see. Which is a load of bollocks.
May as well go back to sleep.

If this session is washed out then surely England won't come out to bat again in this innings?

Yeah, would think an immediate declaration is on the cards. We have to bowl them out cheapish once, knowing that we're unlikely to do it twice.
You also have to think that India can bat on this pitch though and match Englands score.

Yeah, could easily be a 600 plays 600 bore draw, with Tendulkar signing off in England with his milestone hundred. Perhaps making it a double.
If we get amongst them early on though, they might just fall apart again. What do you call three golden ducks in a row? Sehwag is on it, whatever it is... (I know 4 would be a golden Audi and 5 would be Olympic Gold...)

Could well get some play after tea until 7.30pm, i'd still be tempted for a little 7-8 over thrash to get that follow on target well past 400...

It's a close call, they'll probably declare.
We have to bowl them out sub 240 to stand a chance anyway I guess.

From a tweet....

I miss cricket coverage!
Twas that stupid f*cking question that I thought would be asked:
Charles Colville: "NOW. **mince** **bumbling posh tosser** The question I must ask, Jon Trott, when he's back, where does he fit in? surely Bell must now stay at three? **twat twat twat twat what a f*cking twat**"
Stewie: "Well, he is in the form of his life. But England are a great one for continuity of selection... blah blah Trott will be at three"
Good answer Stewie, even if a little clincal.
Thanks Danny. Obviously I don't miss Charles' mincing drivel.

Not quite, Sehwag. Cheeky 8 runs this time.
Poor Gambhir.

Gambhir is f*cking soft. Not up to it. Gets a slight injury and cries off when his team needs him the most. Happened in South Africa, and has now happened twice here. Toughen the f*ck up.

F**k Cricket. And the horse it rode in on. It's a game for girls and wankers. And complete tossers.
Fact.
Fact.

Bell's 235 is the highest by an England player at The Oval since Hutton's 364 in 1938. It is the highest individual Test score on the ground since Javed Miandad's 260 in August 1987. Altogether since Murdoch's 211 in 1884 there have been 18 double-centuries scored in Oval Tests, 8 by England and 10 by the visitors.

Into the tail now... following on by lunch tomorrow, I guess, once Dhoni and the tail have had a slog to make the scoreboard look vaguely respectable.
One more innings for Tendulkar in this series then. Level with StuBro on series runs now having been out seven times to the England man's three! Probably won't want to make history in a losing cause anyway, and wouldn't be surprised if they fly him home and spare him the JAMODIs.

Good to see Swanny back in the wickets, especially as he didn't bowl well at Trent Bridge

Yeah, he should bat with concussion. Against England's fast bowlers with the new ball. It's not like another blow to the head (second impact syndrome) when already concussed can be fatal or anything.
Crying off with a bruised elbow - soft.
Not batting because you're in hospital having tests on a brain injury - not so soft.
