Are you in Cape Town?

This is all happening in Melbourne, though I did report the torrential rain in CT earlier.

Maxwell and co. also reported that the word is that Philander will play. Is it a racist selection though? He would displace Tsotsobe who is black and he's supposed to be the leading wicket-taker in the domestic competition, knows the local conditions, is meant to be more of a containing bowler who might offset Tahir's propensity for conceding runs. On paper he would be a better batsman than any of SA's tail.

The sun is out again according to Maxwell. BTW he's been scathing about the 'indolence' of the local workforce, though Morphett suggested they may have expected further rain so didn't bother mopping up until it had all cleared.

No just providing clarification for those who get easily confused.

Covers are off and the sun it out!

Wasn't he a bit overweight and prone to poor fielding though? I'm not convinced about him but in fairness if we remembered Thommo's debut against Pakistan he would never have played another test. Arguably Warnie against India too!

I made an observation about the ubiquitous rain bands. I've heard there's one heading for Sydney too. Wasn't aware that everybody stayed totally on topic at all times on FB.

He's a genuine allrounder with the disability of not being able to bat, bowl or field.

He would be a worse choice than Pattinson for England.

WTF are you on about MB? I was just about to tell you that it's raining here - if that helps with the weather in Cape Town? I don't expect hail or to lose power though.

So in other words with Tsotsobe playing you have an outside chance of winning but with Philander virtually none?

It also reminds me of the great days of Mute Mal on the ABC Forum.

WTF are you on about?

I asked you to ponder whether or not Philander would make a loss a certainty whereas Tsotsobe would give you some chance? The latter struggles in the field and to know which end of the bat to hold as well!

I also asked you to consider whether or not you discard someone after they look poor in one match or series. After all Thommo and Warnie's test careers would have been severely truncated.

Warne and Thommo had potential, as did JK.

Philander is just shyte without a modicum of BMT. What did he do at Potch last week.
