The Aus selectors will still have a big call to make at the end of this series, imo. Marsh has done well, Khawaja has now got a good score.......assuming Watson and Marsh are fit for Brisbane, who do they leave out?
Ponting should do what Nasser Hussain did in 2004 and retire in order not to hold a younger player back.
If he wins the test (or even saves it) give Punter the gold watch, drop watto to six, tell Clarke to SIUYBG and get Kat to open with anyone but Hughes. Piss Johnson off and blood Cutting.

They wont drop Hughes. His 88 has sealed his spot until at least the end of the NZ series.
They wont pick Katich again. Never mind his age and all the controversy over his comments- He's actually not in good form at the moment. More importantly, I think he's given up in his own mind.
Shaun Marsh will open the batting with Hughes if he's fit for Brisbane. If not then Warner will come in.
Khawaja will stay at three for a while.
I don't think they'll risk playing Watson at Brisbane-Dodgy hammys can get even worse very easily, meaning Ponting survives. I wouldn't be surprised if Hobart is his final test though, assuming everyone is back to full fitness by then.

You're in Joburg right. If so, can you please send us updates up to the start of play.
The draw odds look a but interesting.

Come on. The technique has been exposed yet again. Why let him fill his boots against the Kiwis. Perfect time to give a newish team an easy start. Didn't know about Watto's injury.

Well it can't be denied that Hughes made 88 in the first innings of this test. His technique gets exposed most times but in-between that the planets seem to align (or more likely, the bowlers have an off-session) and he flukes a few runs.
There's no one demanding to be picked ahead of him as opener.

Surprised the draw isn't favourite now. Rained all night, still raining now, and more rain forecast.

Safs will only need an hour of play to wrap it up.

So have $393 on Safrica & $286 on the draw. $320 profit to be made either way.

Fark it. 15 min later - draw is now 2.30, Safs 3.1. Amazingly Aust are 3.1 as well even though they will need 40+ overs to win it whereas the Safs might only need 20.

If they can get 30 overs in it could be interesting. All four results possible then. All five results possible if one or the other teams has a sook about Billy's interpretation of bad light and decides to forfeit in protest.

Oh come on. All it needs is for one of Clarke, Hussey, or Haddin to make a 50 and Aus are home.

FMD Bookies are stoopid.
Now Saf 3.50, Draw 1.90, Aust 4.10.
I did manage to get two hunj on each of Saf and the draw at 2.85 so should be an easy $170 for me.

Both players had to have CHANGED countries....
Was Cowdrey ever dismissed by Asif Iqbal (born in India, but represented Pakistan)?
