James Pattinson's career reaches a new low:

Over 91.5: Pattinson to Martin, FOUR, pushed through the covers and races through the covers for four

All out. Starc gets 3, Patto 4.

Doug Bracewell looks like he has a decent eye.

Warner showing selectors that he is not just a slogger & can play with a defensive mindset. Currently 12 off 11 balls.

Aye. He's obviously done enough now as far as the NSP is concerned. Watch for a triple failure at the top of the order at the Gabba. No

At least Smith has taken himself out of the equasion for re-selection. Cowen is still playing the sheet anchor role at 55 n.o.
Dare i suggest that he is playing more like an opener than Warner?

AustA 4/187 at stumps. Cowen 60 n.o. & Wade 10 n.o. We'd better hope both batsmen go on with it because with one more wicket we are into the tail.

A ton for Australia's answer to Andrew Strauss, the Oxford educated, and one of the few current cricketers Peter Roebuck was good friends with, Ed Cowan.

Would they? Would they dare? Can't imagine him getting on with the likes of Ponting and Clarke. Much too smart for them....

Welly well well. A ton off a crab double for Cowans. As I said in the Test thread, you'd presume the NSP will give Warner a go, but one wonders whether a double crab ton century is a better knock than 65 in even balls.

And Vile Matthew Wade is doing his chances of leapfrogging Timmy Paine for the keeper spot (due to Timmy's injured finger) no harm at all.

Still, I'm betting Haddit will stay. With 5 out injured, they are hardly likely to drop anyone.

Aust A fight back to be only 28 runs shy at the break. Snoozers 1/40 in their second dig with bad light delaying play.

I notice that Aussie Patto batted ahead of Cutting & Starc. However, those two have both shown they can handle a bat averaging around 20 at FC level whereas Aussie Patto averages 8. Has he shown ability with the blade in grade cricket?

Another one crocked?
