KP left out to "manage workload", in other words play in the IPL. But why are they naming the 50 over squad before seeing how people perform in the India series? And what does Hales have to do to get a crack at ODI cricket?

What does Hales have to do? Wait. Just wait and within the year he'll be opening with Cook. Ronnie Knicks is already starting to crab too much. He'll have wasted another 40 ODIs before he's dropped again. They're naming the squad because they've naively chosen their team 'forevs'. Until about three or four of them fail. Wasting valuable experience.

When is this series? England are off to Snoozeland after India?
Any Tests?

The format of 3, 3 and 3 across the formats is probably the best. Well, it's not, but you know what I mean - realistically.

Ryder should be back on the drink and Taylor may still be on a strike by then too.

Yeah, not sure we've ever played a 5 Test series with NZ anyway, think the 1999 "Clash of the Shite 'Uns" was 4 matches. Although in a way this is going to be like a 5 match series across both countries. Why do we increasingly seem to play teams back to back these days, whereas we won't play SA again for about 3 years?Brass Monkey wrote:The format of 3, 3 and 3 across the formats is probably the best. Good to see it's not a 5 or even 7 match JAMODI series, spread over about a month, as has become the norm recently!

Yeah, those amount of ODIs really defeat my morale. They're f*cking boring. Think the ODI tournaments are messing our schedule up.. NZ get to acclimatise before the ICCCCCT, whereas we get to really grim it up with loads of thuperduper practice for the WC by switching the Aus series. I'm fine with the NZ thing, but 10 Tests versus Aus in a row is going to be a bit of a drone IMO.
