Shame about Patto's foot. Kuntouris strikes again? Pup is still talking up Elmer, but shirley they'll go with Cot-Milf-Rhino-Koo?

Is there any talk of dropping Haddin or are they giving him at least the series?

No talk yet. They'll prolly let him play out the series & quietly retire him.

I got crook last year and spent all but the first day sick in my hotel room. Hoping for a much better showing this year.
Shame about Patto but I hope Starc plays.
Also hoping for Dravid and Laxman to score big.

It puts into perspective how thoroughly sh!t India have been.
You'd expect most teams who had their wicketkeeper perform like that would struggle to draw a match, not win by an innings.

Thanks! I'm sure I will be good for day one and will consider everything after that a bonus.
All going well we still have to split shifts until Brat Boy goes to camp on Monday so I've baggsed day one and Dravid and Laxman.

I think - or at least hope - that Haddin may have been given the word that this is his last Australian summer. Paine should be right by the end of the year. Wade is the obvious deputy and may even play the ODIs.

That must've been some nasty hand injury Paine suffered???
Watch some of the Massive Wank last night and Wade kept very well.

Warner
Cowan
Marsh
Ponting
Clarke
Hussey
Haddin
Siddle
Harris
Starc
Hilfenhaus
12th Lyon
... looks a good team for Perth. Clarke, Hussey, and perhaps even Ponting may need to bowl a few overs to spare the quicks.
Watson is probably going to be fit for Adelaide; so Marsh and Cowan will need to score well in Perth.

Given all the prevailing factors, that's the XI I hope they go with, L. Can't see the point of persisting with Elmer in Perth. Let him mix the Gatorade at the WACA and get pasted off the Adelaide tollway later in the month.
Clarke looked more dangerous with the ball than Elmer did.

Horses for courses ... Elmer probably needs to wait for a different opponent.

Some of his mates are supporting him and believe he would be under more pressure if Paine was fit.
Why this blue-eyed boy syndrome though?
I went to the BB last night and saw Wade bat very well and keep very well and that's been the case for some time. Are the selectors frightened that if Wade replaces Haddin and does very well they can't promote their blue-eyed boy who some believe has been earmarked for future captaincy.

Considering they can't sink any lower and have nothing to lose after six straight away test losses, my Indian team would be-
Gambhir
Sehwag(c)
Rahane
Tendulkar
Kohli
Rohit
Dhoni+
Ashwin
Zaheer
Ishant

Except you know they won't do it. You could make a case on recent performances to drop Laxman but the stats militate against a Dravid dropping. However despite him making runs, he just doesn't look good at the crease and the bowlers know that there's no inclination or perhaps even wherewithal to be able to take the initiative against them.

I assume they are working on his batting, because he's too thick to learn anything about bowling.

What a waste of Lillee's time and CA's money to be working on a 30 year who if he hasn't figured things out by now, will never figure things out.
He's your Harmison. Cut him loose. Move on.

Aye Trev, he's technically incapable of getting his wrist into the appropriate position to make it swing consistently and finds it almost impossible to keep the seam vertical. So much so that his fellow bowlers are shat off at the state of the ball after a Midge spell, such is the random landing pattern of Midge deliveries. No shiny side, just two sides with lots of chunks out of them.
I am confident he will not play another Test for Aus.

Hopefully his test days are over but it would be hilarious if he took 8/15 against the dubbers in a Shield game.
