...uncle hozza was taken on a country jaunt for a few days....did watch plenty of cricket tho ...how often will the GCS turn it on like that?....young Ed Cowan really seems a good young bloke....as smart as they come..
hilfy and the other bowlers were ace...a couple of great spells from koo...the bannies were totally abject and spineless tho
Aye on the cricket front. As you know, h, my motto is simple. All is right in the world when Australia is winning at cricket.
aye ...a good time was indeed had....lots of cricket yacking demolition of slabs of kero...not one good word was said for haddit...I got metaphorically cuffed over the ear for using the grade cricket slogger term
my old dad used to say 'in sport as in life it doesn't really matter who wins or loses - as long as the English lose'...while like myself he was a man of remarkably few principles (like father like son), I found that principle has stood the test of time....tho I now the bannies to that list.

I don't think you'll find any disagreement on the Haddit front in here. And you'll have to use Warner's new handle TCS when next in the company of the cuffers.
My dear ol' man would've thoroughly enjoyed the past 3 weeks of cricket. I miss not being able to chat about it with him over a beer.

...so the consensus is he is the real deal?....must say it was good fun watching him go nuts...forgotten in all this is that Cowan was scoring swiftly as well

it was sh!t he got nothing on it (and the first slip caught it)
embee, how many times have you seen a first slip plunge to his left only to see the keeper get to it first? Should we criticise the slipper for his lack of judgement?
What should have happened is that Haddit should have got a glove to it & batted it away from Clarke so the ball goes down to the boundary for a four.
What did happen is that Haddit was too useless to even get a touch which allowed Pup to take a superb catch.
Sorry Mick but you are defending the indefensible.

He might get a game with the Upper Blessington fourths.
Re: Australia v India, 3rd Test, Perth, 13-17 January, 2012
Cheers, just said it as it was, India have played like dog's bollocks for the past few months and would've also struggled against WI (at home) if they were good over two innings and Australia's bowling looks very promising, though still not convince by the batting.Mick Sawyer wrote:skully wrote:And cheers to furry, TO, tricycle and SG for the congrats.

Ordinary is a bit harsh horace, don't you think?
I think the term 'Not great, but very good, with some question marks to be answered' is much more apt than ordinary. We're not scraping by teams. We're rolling them:
Team | Mat | Won | Lost | Draw | W/L | Bat Ave | Bat RPO | Bowl Ave | Bowl RPO |
England | 31 | 20 | 4 | 7 | 5 | 43.78 | 3.57 | 29.41 | 3.28 |
Australia | 32 | 16 | 10 | 6 | 1.6 | 35.89 | 3.39 | 30.76 | 3.37 |
India | 31 | 13 | 10 | 8 | 1.3 | 37.31 | 3.46 | 38.61 | 3.38 |
Pakistan | 27 | 9 | 11 | 7 | 0.81 | 30.15 | 2.96 | 31.33 | 3.13 |
South Africa | 19 | 8 | 5 | 6 | 1.6 | 41.4 | 3.32 | 30.64 | 3.16 |
Sri Lanka | 26 | 6 | 8 | 12 | 0.75 | 36.52 | 3.29 | 41.09 | 3.36 |
New Zealand | 16 | 4 | 8 | 4 | 0.5 | 30.33 | 3.13 | 38.51 | 3.21 |
Bangladesh | 14 | 2 | 11 | 1 | 0.18 | 28.59 | 3.26 | 45.98 | 3.52 |
West Indies | 23 | 2 | 12 | 9 | 0.16 | 27.8 | 3.12 | 38.12 | 3.24 |
Zimbabwe | 3 | 1 | 2 | 0 | 0.5 | 33.78 | 2.81 | 34.56 | 3.22 |
^^^^^ It's an OK record for the top team to have, isn't it?
Re: Australia v India, 3rd Test, Perth, 13-17 January, 2012
of course it is a better than ok record danny...I just think we are at a low in test cricket...the champ players are ageing and mainly past it - few young potential champs on the horizon..I just think the poms are an ordinairy team at time when stds are at a low point

I was defending Haddin's decision to make the attempt. He abilities and place in the team are another question.

Haddin was desperate to catch his verbal sparring partner Zaheer and put two fingers up to him. I'm just sorry he didn't get a glove to it and drop it. He was too sh*t to be completely embarrassed.

Reminded me a bit of a catch Clive Lloyd took at 4th slip from Max Walker (I think) off Andy Roberts at the SCG in 1976. Viv Richards dived across in front of the Big Cat as a ball flew fast at him. He must've been almost completely unsighted but still grabbed the catch in his giant buckets with ease, although he did reel back courtesy of the unsighted nature of the catch.

Margarine is a new word for it.
(Hlf-)Knowing Wally's brand of humour, he probably meant something like a generic underclass bunny let loose on the Gold Coast? STDs Paradise.

That's where it started. I didn't mention the commentator FFS.taipan wrote:"Warner has reinvented opening batting"
FFS
However plenty of cringeworthy posts from Aussie members fawning over Warner.

Aye - naïve. No way that wonky-batted hack-job was in for a smooth ride.
