In the 1930s he had 130% of the average of his nearent challengers (Hammond, Headley and maybe Ponsfoird), and double most of his other contemporaries, and averaged 56 in his worst series when most besides those already mentioned didn't average 56 over their career.
Give him a steady diet of Shaoib, Nel, Harmison and Sreesanth and he'd shoot about 150. Throw (sorry, just can't help it) a Murali or Warne or McGrath into the mix and that might pull his average back to the regulation 99.94.

These hypothetical threads are so silly. No-one can say with any certainty how players would have done in different era.

They had a computer-simulated 'Legends Match' which ran simultaneously with the Bicentennial Test in 1988 which updated on the scoreboard at each break in play.
