Mature. Also respect for being a chick who doesn't idolise that shitty film.Yorkie Jill wrote:combined they are a dangerous force. What strength was the cheddar? If it was mild, well, not that impressive.
It doesn't strike me as a guy film. Maybe guys who are into the 50s and dirty dancing? It's not even that dirty ffs.
I wouldn't force anyone to sit through it and in return, would not expect anyone to make me sit through... A Clockwork Orange, for example.
You are dead to me.Brass Monkey wrote:I uhhhh... ummm.... used to listen to the Dirty Dancing soundtrack. Alot.
I retract my comments from the football thread. F*ck you.taipan wrote:Wasn't the worst movie of all time.

Hey. Thought Jennifer Grey was kinda cute. Before she had the nose job. Worst career move ever.

Yes. Yes. Yes. I mean, I don't tear up. It's just everyone I know who isn't my mum hates Lost in Translation, while I think it's absolutely delightful. Delightful.
Ghost, although I haven't watched it for a long time. Mainly because I know it makes me cry like a biatch.
I was only a young 'un when I saw Ghost at the cinema. Maybe 12 or 13, so my emotions were naturally a bit hormonally helter-skelter. But I was in pieces. It's the final scene where Sam appears to Molly... Oh, shit, I'm on the edge again...

(I've Had) The Time of My Life is bloody brilliant.
I took it on at karaoke once. Both parts. It didn't really work without the harmonies. And my Bill Medley voice was a bit more like Louis Armstong. Especially on "Just remember...!"

Deep Blue Sea and Deep Impact make me cry in despair every single time. Terrible.

I've never wanted to kill you as much as I do now. And I've wanted to kill you a lot of times.Dello wrote:Brass Monkey wrote:I uhhhh... ummm.... used to listen to the Dirty Dancing soundtrack. Alot.

Anaconda was a worse film than Dirty Dancing.

I find it delightful too. It's so quiet and... Bill Murray. Plus the temples near Kyoto look brill.

Re: Movies that make you cry.
It's basically a French New Wave film - all long, knowing looks and lingering silences.
My friends all think it's boring. "Nothing happens."
They're idiots. If something doesn't explode, it hasn't happened.

It's the looks for me. Lingering, full of all kinds of emotion. I love that there's nothing actually between them. It's on that fine line between father figure and romance, which could be very wrong, but isn't at all.

Oh. Also, confession time. When Arnie gets lowered into the lava I weep. Pretty much every time. I actually just watched it on youtube and cried.
F*ck me, the first two Terminator films really were magnificent.

Re: Movies that make you cry.
If anyone mentions that third or fourth film you mean nothing to me.
Technically you all mean nothing to me, except Dello who I apparently have some crush on and Jill, who shall be my bride one day.

Vilks, when we get married, you can watch Anaconda all you like, I just cannot help but notice the snake is totally and utterly fake ALL THE TIME.
Bit like in Dambusters where the bombs explode and they've just superimposed fire onto the screen, and the bursting dams are just water rushing over some bricks. But that's an old film. They have an excuse. The Anaconda has zero excuse.

The wampa in the Empire Strikes back looks fake as hell too.Yorkie Jill wrote:Vilks, when we get married, you can watch Anaconda all you like, I just cannot help but notice the snake is totally and utterly fake ALL THE TIME.

I think we seriously need to think about our marriage.

Pull yourself together, man. He was a robot. An Austrian robot at that.

T3 and Terminator: Salvation were an insult to everything humanity should hold dear.
I devoted myself weekly to the TV series, The Sarah Connor Chronicles, in the hope that it would find its feet, but it never did.

Wow. We're really getting honest here... Well, OK, I had this whole 'unrequited love' thing going on with some bird Nikki... I used to play Hungry Eyes when I thought I was in there and then She's Like The Wind when I knew I wasn't. Good times.....
Re: Movies that make you cry.
Although it's far too long with too much superfluous stuff, the director's cut shows how they do some shit with a chip in his head which means he can learn stuff.Dello wrote:vilkrang wrote:Oh. Hence the line "I know now why you cry, but it is something I could never do". He is pretty much human by the end. Other than half of his face being melted off.
Also quick trivia. The actor who gets stabbed in the eye was stabbed by his brother. They were twins. If you look really closely there's a slight difference.
Same thing at the end with Sarah Connor, she also has a twin which they used.
Also I don't give a shit about spoilers when it comes to T2. If you haven't seen it yet then you are f*cked in the head.
