Re: England v Australia, 1st ODI, Lords, 29 June, 2012
Kieswetter is a problem. Gets all 'Luke Wright-ish' when it comes to international cricket and often can't get it off the square. Get Jos Buttler in there with the gloves.

Dream the f*ck on.
If they top 240 they'll have done well. For them.
Re: England v Australia, 1st ODI, Lords, 29 June, 2012
Morgan really needs to be batting 4 now, drop the Chavster and give Bairstow or Buttler a chance at 5.

Kieswetter isn't doing enough. I've thought for a while his hitting ability is overrated.

Got to love Morgan. The diamond in amongst the rubber tyres, amongst the discarded bric-a-brac people have no use for - amongst the smouldering embers of yesterday.
Re: England v Australia, 1st ODI, Lords, 29 June, 2012
Shame he hasn't really cut it as a Test player. There's room for specialists I know, but someone of his natural talent really should be able to adapt to the longer game.

Brilliant stuff from Morgan! I hope he can become a good test player too one day.

272 - went better than I thought.
Won't be enough.

Morgan is too unorthodox to be a good test player. The only chance he has is if he just bats like he's batting in a one day game all the time.

Decent total but one we would defend only 25% of the time before with our part time dobbers.
Let's see if the 2 new balls and the full bowling line up theory works!

England's 2nd highest score v. Oz at HQ next to 278-7 (Gooch 136) in May 1989. Australia won the match by 6 wkts (Marsh 111).

Not seen any of the match, but Kieswetter 25 off 29?
And Morgan, on the other hand.

Kieswetter is too firm wristed. Can't work the ball well. Also loses his shape too often when going for the big shots. I'd say he's regressed since he first played for England two years ago.

Hasn't his leg side play improved from non existent to shite or better now? It did seem so the last time I saw him.

It doesn't look good when a batsman nicks it but stands his ground with hotspot and reviews available.

God we've bowled ordinary to Warner. Why is England's plan A so often to bowl short?

As usual, we're letting things drift in the middle overs. No slips, happy to conceed a run a ball......Aus will cruise home 3 down in the 45th over.

It just beggars belief. If we don't take a wicket, we WILL lose.Henry wrote:No slips.

We's be lucky that Aus' batting line-up is fatted up with a bunch of hacky wankers... or we'd be in real trouble.
Re: England v Australia, 1st ODI, Lords, 29 June, 2012
Sharapova and Sidemouth are proper keeping the nasals in it - 82 off 56 isn't the most horrendous equation I've ever heard.

Meddy Wide stupidly run out, which is a relief. Because Swann is huge ultra tonk-fodder. More hittable than an inebriated Gashley Piles...
