Colour me shocked. Watto plays on for the 100th time in his JAMODI career.

I find it a little insulting to the English side that Aus can get beaten 4-0 and still retain the no. 1 ODI spot. England have looked far and away the best JAMODI side in the past 6 months.

At 3-65 after 21, 200 is looking a reasonable score.

If these are the best two sides, there's something wrong with the ranking system, or the TAYPOC factor of ODI cricket worldwide is at a record level.skully wrote:I find it a little insulting to the English side that Aus can get beaten 4-0 and still retain the no. 1 ODI spot. If we had a World Cup now, who would the favourites be? India, South Africa and Sri Lanka, I suspect.

3rd 50 partnership for 7th wicket in ODIs at Riverside and highest against England here. Highest partnership for 7th wicket in ODIs at this ground beating Mohammed Yousuf & Wasim Akram's 66* v. Scotland in May 1999.

Lowest score by Australia v. England since 176 at this ground in September 2009. England won by 4 wickets - survivors from Australia side are Watson, Clarke, Lee & Hilfenhaus, survivors from England are Bopara, Morgan, Bresnan & Anderson.

Poor effort not finishing them off there, should have gambled on frontline bowlers with slips etc. when they were 6 down for under 100. This might not be an easy chase if they lose a couple early.

England have shat this up. 200 is a good score on that wicket.
Last 10 overs were a load of pap. Bresnan, as usual, going for 14 "at the death".
F*ck knows what they see in him. He can't break 70 mph these days and spends all innings bowling legside half volleys.

The reason for Fat Sam's last over was a mystery too ...unless Cheffy was setting up a decent total to chase

England last bowled out for <200 in a domestic ODI in a losing cause batting 2nd in June 2008 v. the Kiwis at Bristol when they made 160 chasing a target of 184.

Shocking from us again. In fairness to the rankings, this wasn't the side that earned us our top of the tree spot. Bailey and Forrest have to go - no future there.
Could have been worse had Bell been able to catch, Morgan too. Both of them have dropped quite a few during this series.
Bad toss to lose too.
BTW, why does Clarke have to be smirking or grinning every time the camera pans to him? Why was he so pleased with the performance?

Yeah, well played, in the end, but the match stretched well longer than it should've.
What was Lee's injury? Does this mean he'll be off, or will he be back as a 70 mile an hour dobber?

An efficient win - well, apart from the dropped catches. And how good is Finn?. I know Bresnan never lets us down in tests, but keeping him in the side at Finn's expense is a no-brainer.
