The baby sweep looks a certainty.

Always pisses it down in Manchester, so might be 3-0 rather than 4-0...

It will probably be a completely different England bowling attack except for Finn. Something like-
Finn
Woakes
Dernbach
Tredwell
Patel

That's just about been the case even with a full strength attack. I mean Bresnan FFS. Even on a cloudy day with a seaming pitch yesterday, he still went at 5+ an over when everyone else was under 4.

Dernbach won't be playing - he has a side strain.

He would be a better bowler without the obsession for slower balls and slow ball bouncers - he can get it down at quite a decent lick.

Dernbach should model himself on Jimmy. Forget the slower balls and just concentrate on swing at a decent pace.

Dernbach bowled OK for little reward in his last game...
Re: England v Australia, 5th ODI, Old Trafford, 10 July, 2012
Mickey Arthur is looking just as big a useless qunt as the previous coach. I said at the time he was nothing more than a self promoting windbag & see no reason to change my opinion.
Re: England v Australia, 5th ODI, Old Trafford, 10 July, 2012
Perhaps the players should take more of the blame than the selectors and coaches?

I'd prefer to put this down to low intensity/under-preparation in a JAMODI series after 6 weeks off. It wasn't long ago that we were pasting the Bannies and performing well against an improving Windies side.
But on paper the current bunch looks ordinary, and are performing as such. If Warner, Watson and Clarke fail, it's curtains for the game. You can't be making scratchy <250 scores and expect to hold out a confident English batting side.

Let's face it, a team with Bailey and Forrest in the top 6 just looks shit.

Its the coaches job to ensure the players don't have to take the blame.
Re: England v Australia, 5th ODI, Old Trafford, 10 July, 2012
You're right BD, they've picked all the ramshackle Tozzies that a single team can possibly stand.
Re: England v Australia, 5th ODI, Old Trafford, 10 July, 2012
It's not the Tozzies fault. They can't be expected to stand up and perform in the face of bullybell.

Aye. And how could George Bailey be expected to wreck the mighty Tim Bresnan with his incredible 80MPH leg-stump deliveries?

ACtually, it feels like 1990s England.
