Re: Murray is right about Federer
Jahangir Khan? F*ck me. You have some hugely parochial prick to mention him, especially above someone like Fed - or any of the popular sports' greats. Really. Here's a fact - in the present day there's 20 million that participate in the game of squash and 20,000 that compete. But, I suppose he's Pakistani, so he rules above all

particularly as Jansher has winning % over Jahangir.

My mate hasn't been beaten in the game of 'Thumbsies' for well over 10 years - all-comers have tried and failed to best him. HE IS THE GREATEST SPORTSMAN EVER.

Does he chop off the others' thumbs?

He just had the mightier thumb. He must've beaten 50 people. Unprecedented!
Re: Murray is right about Federer
He could get an alternate porn career with such a thumb.

Tennis isn't exactly the most played sport in the world either.United States is one of the very few countries in the world where people can easily find a decent tennis court yet 90% of the kids have absolutely no interest in the sport and isn't considered a "cool" sport among kids.Brass Monkey wrote:Jahangir Khan? I personally really like the sport and currently i am among the top 50 players at my university of over 55,000 students yet at the local park tournaments at least 3 or 4 older guys(above 40) are better than me.

Can't think of many countries where tennis isn't played.

and you were making it sound like 7.05 billion!
Jahangir Khan won 555 matches in a row so it will be VERY unfair to not name him as one of the top 3 sportsmen of all time.

Why am I? I'm saying that if 20 million play squash now, back in Jahangir's day there'd have been a lot less. No comparison in minority sports.
I know for a pure fact that if 'Jahangir Khan' was actually 'Mark Jones' from NZ you wouldn't have said a word about him - because you're a biased clown of the highest order.
You're not to be taken seriously.

Re: Murray is right about Federer
Heather Blundell was born in Queanbeyan, New South Wales. As Heather McKay, she completely dominated the sport of women's squash in the 1960s and '70s. She lost only two matches in her entire career (in 1960 and 1962), and was unbeaten in competitive squash matches from 1962 through to 1981, when she retired from active open squash.
McKay won her first British Open (considered to be the effective world championship of the sport at the time) in 1962. She then won it again every year for the next 15 consecutive years, losing only two games at the championship during that time. She usually won her finals matches comfortably. In the 1968 championship, she won the final against her compatriot Bev Johnson without dropping a point.
In 1976, an unofficial world championship known as the Women's World Squash Championship was held in Brisbane, which McKay won by defeating Marion Jackman in the final 9–2, 9–2, 9–0. The first official women's World Open was held in 1979 in England, and McKay captured the inaugural title with a 6–9, 9–3, 9–1, 9–4 win over Sue Cogswell in the final.
McKay also won the Australian Amateur Championships for 14 consecutive times from 1960 to 1973.
When she retired in 1981 at the age of 40, McKay had gone nearly 20 years undefeated (with the only two defeats to her name occurring at the beginning of her career). Since retiring from the top-level game, she has remained active in international Masters level events, and has won two over-45 world championship titles and two over-50 world championship titles.

I can't help myself... when some dick says 'Jahangir Khan is a better sportsman than Muhammad Ali' then I feel it's my duty to say something. I mean what a f*cking clown.

Oh, thanks. That's kind of you. It couldn't be to do with the fact that every thought you ever have ever is Pakistan-centric. It couldn't be to do with the fact that your judgement has become increasingly clouded by some schoolgirl like crush on your country of origin and it blinds you so heavily that it makes you look quite ridiculous at times. It's actually that I've got personal problems.

I might be, if I was I'd probably say that 'Jahangir Khan is a better sportsman than Muhammad Ali'.

Most experts feel Joe Frazier was a better boxer than Ali. Ali was just better able to withstand a beating.

how many active boxers are out there, if we are discussing minority sports. never quite understood the massive adulation ali got, considering not many people actually box (well, when not in a bar anyways). maybe its the primal-ness of it that attracts people's attention
