Re: Aust International Fixtures 2012-13
I hate it how all of the tests are over by the start of January. January IS the Summer month in Australia. More tests should be played in this time. No one gives a f*ck about the ODIs in Aus these days (as evidenced by hugely declining crowds), yet CA insist on scheduling them in the prime of the Aussie Summer.

Well Tassie gets another test (two in a row...wow!) so i'm not complaining.
Re: Aust International Fixtures 2012-13
And playing ODI series AFTER test series clearly isn't a winner. Urgh....sometimes I genuinely think cricket Boards around the World are TRYING to ruin the game.

You presume intelligence and malice where there is strong evidence for mere ineptitude and entropy.

Genius to put the high drawing opponent in the boondocks venues.

Because South Africa want to have their own Boxing Day test.
Oh wait.....They'll be playing a T20 instead FFS.

Re: Aust International Fixtures 2012-13
So they would have been a part of a 65000 crowd on Boxing Day and probably 200k+ for the whole test but they gave that up to stage their own T20 back home that no one will remember a couple of days later?

Yes, that's correct.
Before it's even been played their Board has admitted it was a mistake, but the schedule is locked in already. They'll be reverting to the traditional test match next year, but maybe not at Durban.

The fact that more people in Durban probably support India rather than South Africa might have something to do with that test match having underwhelming test crowds.
And South Africa always play sh*t there.

Actually the trouble is that the crowds in Durban don't support anyone. Even the last Indian test was a total crowd failure. Promotors won't even schedule major international groups there because of financial losses.
And yes Zat, I have made my feelings known about the Boxing Day fiasco known maybe times here. I fact I think it was me who broke the news here (red must have been sleeping)
