Good to see white collar crims getting a decent whack.

Re: In other news ....
Aussies here may have seen the story over the weekend of the guy who stole an Audi in Melbourne and was chased by the police all the way to the southern outskirts of Sydney (over 900 kms).
All I want to know is how farken big is that car's fuel tank?? Melbourne to Sydney and he didn't (I imagine) stop for petrol. And he wasn't exactly driving economically.

Shane Warne, Last of the Easyriders
Seriously, it could easily have been a lot worse. Best wishes to Warney for a full recovery.

It wouldn't have been Victorian coppers who chased all the way though would it? If so, presumably they had to stop for petrol as well, if not, maybe there was a window on the cross over?

News just in from Zog Central...
Michael Slater has been arrested and refused bail after allegedly breaching an AVO put on him in October. In Manly Court today.
How the loud and mighty have fallen. Always was a dickhead.

Geez, the fruit bat sent 66 test messages and made 18 unanswered phone calls to his ex-partner last night to trigger his arrest.
I guess he is no longer "just working to put food on the table for his 3 daughters" as he cried via text from India last year.
What a dill.

Next one won’t be until 03/02/2030.
It’s also an ambigram (reads the same upside down, in digital/calculator display numerals) which I believe may never be the case again with a 4-digit year…

Re: In other news ....
Long running (37 years) Aus TV series Neighbours, that is popular in the UK, can't find another broadcaster after UK Channel 5 ended their arrangement with production company Fremantle.
So it will end this year. Having never watched a single episode, I can't say I'm heartbroken.
Apparently* many in Blighty are.

Speaking of veteran productions, the occasionally moderately amusing 'ploitical satire' 'How Green Is My Cactus' (which I listened to regularly in the days of King Bonza and Queen Hayseed, and Andrew Peabrain and Little Johnny Wayward) recently overtook 'Blue Hills' as Australia's longest-running radio serial - which amazed me and doubtless others, who had no idea it had made it even as far as the Howard head-honcho-ship.

Go on Google street view and find the Bradworthy Inn in Holsworthy, UK.
Now go to the left a couple of houses along the street.
You'll come to a house for sale called The Old Forge, now go to the furthest downstairs window to the left of the building and zoom in.

Idiot BoM
"The environment minister, Tanya Plibersek, has shot down the Bureau of Meteorology’s request for people not to call it “the BoM”, saying Australians should be free to call it whatever they like as the full cost of the rebrand has been revealed.
The BoM rebrand cost more than $220,000, including cash to update the organisation’s visual style and logo, conduct research, develop pull-up banners and support media engagement."
------------------------------------
Dopes. I will still call it the BoM. It's the Aus way. Use names as short as possible.

Young Jacinda has resigned.
"New Zealand prime minister Jacinda Ardern has said she is resigning, in a shock announcement that came as she confirmed a national election for October this year.
At the party’s annual caucus meeting on Thursday, Ardern said she “no longer had enough in the tank” to do the job. “It’s time,” she said."

A rare politician with very few missteps.
