I doubt it. Turnbull had his chance & blew it. For all his faults, Abbott was the only one to pick up the pieces & turn the Libs into a viable opposition.
Abbott only did it at the expense of his principles which Turnbull was unwilling to do. It seems the electorate is starting to realise that and the risk that such a Prime Minister holds.

Your point? Are you falling for the "punched the wall" beat up?JGK wrote:skully wrote:I like the street-fighter in him - it gets up the noses of the Pinkos, as evidenced by their desperate attempts to sully his name by dredging up shit from his Uni days. Jeezus, we were all mad qunts in that era of our lives, FFS.
Recent quote from Tony Abbott:
"I am not asking the Australian people to take me on trust, but on the record of a lifetime. As student president, trainee priest, Rhodes Scholar, surf life saver and volunteer firefighter, as well as a Member of Parliament."
I'd take him as my PM every day of the week over a lying, ex-sleazebag lawyer.
Isn't your great hero the streetfighter extraordinaire, Kunting? I thought you'd understand.

I certainly understand and I do respect Abbott's political skills.
But he ain't no Keating.
As for the uni thing - the point is, Abbott has invited people to look at him throughout his whole life, not just his current position. So if people find aspects of his past that are unsavoury then he is fair game. I have no doubt the incident happened just I have no doubt that it is mostly irrelevant to him being PM 35 years later. But the point his he has flatly denied it ever taking place when the weight of evidence suggests otherwise - hence he is lying today.

Jeez, do they call you "Clutchen" around the office? I'll see your "I didn't punch the wall" during an incident that nobody witnessed, and raise with a "there will be no carbon tax under a government lead by me" seen by a whole nation.

Might have punched the wall once when he was a student 30 years ago.

It's a bit like your apprentice sparkies dying in roofs is akin to soldiers dying in wars palaver.
Truly, MrK is clearly having a lend and stirring the pot - he couldn't be that well educated AND that stoopid.

Meanwhile, Cory Bernadi again disgraces his party by implying that allowing homosexual marriage could lead to calls to allow bestiality and polygamy.
To Abbott's credit, it does sound like he is going to tear Bernardi a new one as a result.

Bernadi cops it up the dinger
"Liberal Senator Cory Bernardi has resigned as Opposition leader Tony Abbott's personal parliamentary secretary following widespread furore over the South Australian's comments that legislating for gay marriage could lead to the legalising of bestiality.
In announcing Senator Bernardi's resignation Mr Abbott said his contribution to the same-sex marriage debate was unwelcome."
---------------------------------------------------
As JGK predicted, MM was unimpressed and took action.

Why did Abbott allow him to resign? That xenophobe/homophobe Bernardi deserved nothing less than a public sacking.

Does "a decent bloke with stong opinions" count?
"I've known Cory for a long time. He is a decent bloke with strong opinions. But discipline [and] team play [are] vital," he said.

Saw Bernadi's speech on midday Foxy News at the pub. Was indeed cringeworthy stuff. It was like he had no clue of the gravity of the shit that was coming from his mouth. His "creatures have feelings for each other" (or similar) was particularly bizarre.

You can't sack someone who's already resigned ... resignation is a time-honoured prelude to being permanently pensioned off in cases like this.
He'll be disendorsed.
I'd say 'poor bugger', except he isn't.
