Racist chants on Day 2 at the MCG
It seems a bunch of Aussies indulged themselves with a "show us your visas" chant aimed at their subi neighbours on Day 2.

Link?
How the fack is that racist, anyway?
Snide, yes. On the verge of insulting, yes. Racist is a long stretch.

Check PakPassion . . .
. . . of course, it's what the poms always throw at the Aussies in England, but that's not racist.

Not one of the offenders was kicked out, despite the fact that there was a lot of police and security guards within metres of the chant.
2 fans WERE ejected when they came to the ground with a banner saying,"Supporting India from every corner of the globe" followed by a 7Eleven symbol.

Well it's mildly amusing. But you can see how it would offend some Indians.
Things have changed a lot in 4 years. Last time India was here, didn't Greg 'Fat cat' Ritchie give a performance of his 'Mahatma Cote' character at a charity dinner attended by some high ranking Indian cricket officials? Word is no one laughed throughout the performance, and Ritchie has since put the character to bed.

It does offend some and with good reason, I agree. But sometimes we just take ourselves too seriously.
I just find that it is better to laugh it off. Or better still, to share the joke and give it back, if it does not cross the line (which line is different for different people).
And it was Gandhi who said (cutting and pasting from google): First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win.
Same thing happens in race relations.
