No-one ever assused the NLWL as being the sharpest tool in the shed.

The NLWL is the ultimate team man...Big Ears is his team mate, so no surprise here...
He also said of Thicko "I love the way he goes about his business internationally and domestically and his contribution in the clubhouse was just fantastic"...
If Ronnie Irani played for Somerset he'd call him a better all rounder than Davo...

He does have a lot of positive things to say about people / matches / teams.
No harm in that.

Re: Langer on Caddick: "the best bowler in England"
He has a very high opinion of himself which is not altogether backed up by his stats. Even though they are pretty good. I remember against Pakistan he got seven wickets in a match and was clearly England's best bowler, but was promptly dropped for the next one because Stewie didn't like him.
I'd still have him in the team to face NZ. In fact how about this mob:
Vorn (c)
Cook
Ramps
KP
Dingdong
Wobbles
Foster (w)
Caddy
Hoggy
Monty
Harmi

I'll take Option C with overtones of A, but as a piece of VoR knee-jerkism it's a pretty tame specimen.
JL is less likely than just about anybody to call any team-mate 'a complete waste of apace and a pimple on the arse of cricket and somebody should take him out the back and shoot him', even if that was his opinion.

Apparently he's lost that little bit of pace you need at test level. Still takes a lot of wickets but they're a bit more expensive these days. Would be fodder against a top test side.
Have to say I'm getting nostalgic for the aloof big eared legend (ABIL in Aussie speak) these days in light of our current please have 500 odd runs declared every single innings mob.

Caddick is, and always will be (unless he gets the ears pinned back) Toby Jug.tac wrote:Eric Air Emu wrote:Apparently he's lost that little bit of pace you need at test level. Still takes a lot of wickets but they're a bit more expensive these days. Would be fodder against a top test side.

the BNLG is a famously poor judge of the merits of careers - notably his own...ergo abosolutely no surprise that he rates caddick

Caddick - classic case of the player whose reputation increases with thepassing of every year he doesn't play (at test level anyway)
