2nd on the list of high score with 2 x 50s. Pak made 636 AO with Imran Nazir making 127 and no other scores above 50.JGK wrote:skully wrote:In DGB's 334 innings Aus made 566 with 2 other 50s. 566 is not the highest total with 3 x 50s.
In the innings with DGBs 304 there was another 50 (181 by Ponny) but the 5584 is not the highest total with 2 x 50s.

Where we stand:
1. The highest AO Test total with only one score > 50?
2. The highest AO Test total with only two scores > 50? = Aus (701) v Eng, The Oval, 1934 - WH Ponsford 266; DG Bradman 244
3. The highest AO Test total with only three scores > 50?
1. The highest AO Test total with only one score > 50?
2. The highest AO Test total with only two scores > 50? = Aus (701) v Eng, The Oval, 1934 - WH Ponsford 266; DG Bradman 244
3. The highest AO Test total with only three scores > 50?

Scrap that. The 304 was higher.
And the 244 with Ponny higher still.
1. The highest AO Test total with only one score > 50?
2. The highest AO Test total with only two scores > 50? = Aus (701) v Eng, The Oval, 1934 - WH Ponsford 266; DG Bradman 244
3. The highest AO Test total with only three scores > 50?
So the total for 3 is less than for 2?

So we are left with the highest All Out Test total featuring a single score of over 50.

Looking , looking, looking, for the highest All Out total that featured a single score of over 50 runs. It's a pretty damn good score (individually outstanding - Team total, highly decent).

Gonna have to catch this in the early-mid morning. The Assassin and JGK might come in with some 1.00 am answers, but that's way too late for me given my 5.00 am start to the day.

Looking for a match involving a very talented Yarp.
1. The highest AO Test total with only one score > 50?

Aye.
1. The highest AO Test total with only one score > 50? = SAf (491) v Aus, Johannesburg(2), 1935-36 - AD Nourse 231
2. The highest AO Test total with only two scores > 50? = Aus (701) v Eng, The Oval, 1934 - WH Ponsford 266; DG Bradman 244

Re: Trivia & Quizzia 2013 (an occasional series, by whoever wishes)
Quickie. Nourse's 231 above was made in the 2nd innings to set a run chase for Aus (which MrK correctly points out was made easily thanks to Stan McCabe monstering the SAffies with 189*). Only 2 Aussies have made 2nd innings double centuries. DGB did it twice. Who is the other?

Actually, that match was drawn because of a thunderstorm although the urban legend is that the Saffie captain took his players off for bad light because Stan was putting them in danger.
Is the answer to the quickie, Taypodge?

My mistake in saying they got the runs - the match was drawn with Stan going nuts, and Aus 125 shy of the 399 target.JGK wrote:skully wrote:Quickie. And yes, Podge is the man (MB got it). Embarrassing that such a cement-footed hack would be in the elite company of the Don.

Sturat's 7-44 was a grouse effort by the hot and cold English strike bowler in the recent T1 v NZ. However he got onto a list of Michelle takers who conceded more than 60% of the the opponent's completed innings total. He comes in at 4th with 64.71% of NZ's total of 68. Can you name the 3 bowlers who took 5-fer or better AND conceded more than 65% of the opponent's total?
5 or more wickets in an innings AND conceding 64+% of the opponent's completed total:
