Re: Breaking news for next test
It's pretty unbelievable.
At least with England's issues with KP last Summer, he had done something genuinely questionable that could disrupt the team.
These guys didn't do their homework. I guess Pattinson charging in all day in hot conditions on flat pitches, and putting a price on his wicket as a lower order batsman, isn't enough to convince the management types that run cricket these days that he's serious about playing for his Country.

Surprised Hughes could have completed the assignment too.
Surely it's all signs of a deeper malaise.
Why didn't Uncle Arthur just run detentions?

Re: Breaking news for next test
You know, back in 2001, I was tired of the Aussies, they were chainsawing all over the place, their overly dramatic 'matter-of-fact' sledging was the absolute pits, as was their general attitude on and off the pitch. They were an genuine disgrace. I'd had enough. They needed to be taken down.
So I did some pagan spell where I had to chant the words to Electric Avenue, whilst f*cking a badger, then I had to kill a fieldmouse by reciting the poetry of William McGonagall to it. When I'd finished the spell, nothing happened. I was mortified. I thought their reign of bollock-grabbing would never finish.
But it did come true in the end. The wheels must be totally off. What other explanation do you need when they're suspending two players for not sending an e-mail saying how they could improve their performance when they HAVEN'T been in the team.
In. Credible.

Good stuff Brass M. What about a reverse spell now though?
Just in time for the Ashes.

Apparently Watson is leaving India as we speak.
Unclear whether it's a sook at the punishment, injury, or if he's been sent home for as yet unreported further discipline reasons.

Well the airports in both countries are seeing a bit of action one way or the other on the cricket front. Revolving doors everywhere. They've got their wish with rotation.
They've found new ways to rotate.

This is incredible.
Always felt Arthur was a bit odd when he talks about the game, the players etc.
But I'm surprised at Clarke. He seemed smart enough.
May be there's something more to this ?

Arthur said he was surprised that Shane Watson didn't complete the task, but basically said that Uzzy is a repeat offender who needs to improve his attitude quick-smart.

Re: Breaking news for next test
the reactions of aussies from another time
"I'm surprised that's the penalty for something so mundane. It seems like it was on a schoolboy tour or something. It's an over the top reaction."
Former Australia captain Allan Border
"I'm stunned. I've never heard of this sort of thing before at top level in any sport. When you are losing there are niggling things there but they're grown men, it's not school boy stuff. It's not under-6s, this is Test cricket… there would have been a better way."
Former Australia batsman Mark Waugh
"From my experience report writing is not a player's strength, no surprise to hear some failing, need to focus more on field short comings?"
Former Australia allrounder Tom Moody
"Adults we are, not schoolboys! Please let's act properly and make good decisions in India! Need these boys playing."
Former Australia batsman Darren Lehmann
"To many wrong people are picked for jobs who give a fancy presentation!!"
Former Australia batsman Damien Martyn
and the village idiots
"What is going on with Aussie Cricket?? Didn't realise you had to do an essay to get a selection these days..!!!!!"
Former England captain Michael Vaughan
"Implications from these actions are serious.. I feel it is deeper than it appears. Aust are in trouble!!"
Former Australia batsman Dean Jones

Watto

2 Dont do a calf (they are sacred in India ...better to stick with tac's goats)
3 Dont get hit hit in the pad
Usman
1 get Mickey Arthur to recognize him as member of touring party
2 get Michael Clarke to recognize him as a dubber
3.pretend to Bernie Inverarity that he is still living

Exactly. The coach has sacked the players for not doing his job for them.
What a joke. I would have done the same thing in their situation.

Ussie probably thinks its a load of utter bullshit .ike most people would.
I guarantee you that Shane Warne would have done the task. I'd like to see a nobody like Arthur's try to drop Warne.

WA's recovery, Australia's decline, and Arthur's move from WA to Australian coaching ... coincidental?
