Re: Breaking news for next test
Must have been typing when I checked because was going to put it in the match thread and nothing was there so decided the news was big enough for its own.

Don't think it's the worst thing for Pattinson to be missing.

The latter will surely get a gig now and even before this news broke there was talk from some of his teammates that Hughes should be retained.

Shane Watson, James Pattinson , Usman Khawaja and Mitchell Johnson...
Watto's in a lot of trouble then? He's VC, Pattinson and Khawaja are the young 'uns easily led (in theory), and Johnson's newly returned (FWIW) I think.

Not as 'exciting' then
Arthur said Watson and Pattinson, as well as Usman Khawaja and Mitchell Johnson, had failed to deliver a presentation which management asked all players to complete following the embarrassing innings defeat in Hyderabad last week.
Players were asked to outline three points on what they bring to the team by email or in person, and given five days to complete the task. The four players did not complete the assignment by the given deadline.

What's the largest ever defeat in Test history? Could be on the card. India to make 1000 and Aus to be rolled twice for 100.

Seeing the headlines I thought Punter was being flown in and he was returning to shore up the middle order....wait a sec. This is India Aus is playing in!
Why couldn't Eng have been so considerate in returning us the favor when they toured us but not allowing us to win easily? Have gentlemen stopped playing for Poms?

Axed for not doing a self assessment.
To be fair it probably took more than 5 days to narrow it down to Three points.

Re: Breaking news for next test
FFS!!!!!!! Khawaja & Johnson hav'nt even played a farking test yet. How were they supposed to answer. This team is being lead by morons.
Re: Breaking news for next test
I don't know what is more crazy, that they have axed these 4 and opened the doors for another test defeat or that they ere axed over s stupid school boy homework assignment reportedly? Surely this 'breach of protocol' could have waited punishment till they returned home after finishing the tour? Or do they want Clarke in a mental asylum by end of tour or better still, dead by suicide?
And...
They didn't drop Phil Hughes for plain being shit for so long! Might as well make him team captain while the selectors are still smoking pot....

Two of them didn't even play in the test. Maybe they were tardy carrying the drinks on.

Re: Breaking news for next test
In India no bastard in BCCI can make players do a 'self assessment'. No action is ever taken till team comes back and manager submits report or complain.

Pattinson could just have written -
1. Wickets.
2. Wickets.
3. Wickets.
Hilarious if they really were dropped for not sending a stoopid email.
