A hernia is hardly a serious operation.

Re: Saeed Ajmal is sick these days....
how can a 20-something year old have an inguinal hernia ? ..
Unless he wears a tight enough belt all the time to squeeze out his intestines into whatever cavity ?
So I doubt it's inguinal .. maybe some other kind. Perhaps pubalgia. Might not be very easy to repair and requires sufficient rehabilitation.

Well, thanks for the info furri. But inguinal hernia doesn't come about until 55 or so. It's a late onset disease for most or else found only in newborn babies.
doremi, wht about Putin.
Putin is a star & so am I.
Always was & always will be.

Hmmm, maybe you should consider changing your health provider if this is the sort of information you are given. An inguinal hernia, or any hernia can arise at any age. A hernia is simply the contents of one compartment pushing through a gap into another compartment. Can be due to all manner of pathologies in all areas of the body involving many types of contents including brain (you really don't want one of those, although you wouldn't know much about it.).buckSH wrote:Well, thanks for the info furri. Inguinal hernias are the result of a weakness or defect in the various muscle layers dividing the abdominal cavity from the inguinal canal through which the testes descended. The defect is usually congenital and as such, age plays little role. They are also very common.
There are two types, direct and indirect. One is far more common. One is more age related. the more common one is not age related. That is all the spoon-feeding I am prepared to do for free. I still have not received my remuneration from members who have been in receipt of my medical advice.

I must say though, I am amazed at how many medical experts there are in all walks of life. The WWW is a revalation. I am always impressed by the confidence and conviction with which said experts expound facts. Which are just simply incorrect.

Re: Saeed Ajmal is sick these days....
Just checked the story. Ajmal said he has been in a good deal of pain and has been feeling pretty unwell. Hernia is not confirmed as the cause. If it was I would be looking for other types of hernia (e.g. femoral) as inguinal hernias are not usually troublesome unless they are very small as they are then more easily strangulated. But could be any amount of abdo pathology. However, common things are common and hernias are common, whether you are 20 something or 35. I hope they find the cause and correct it.

Well, I speak only from personal experience of having seen folks who developed hernia. For pressure on the abdominal muscles can arise only pressure is applied to it, for eg sports like weightlifting etc. they often wear underwear that gives them additional support and prevent stuff from spilling over or into.
there is always a cause for the hernia, it just doesn't come about by itself.

You lunatic.
I had a hernia once. It was agony. Went to the doctor's. He said it wasn't a hernia. Big spot or something. Went away in a few days. True story.
Re: Saeed Ajmal is sick these days....
I had a hernia for 4/5 years. No pain. Went to doctor's. Sent me to surgeon. Operated at 11am, was in the pub by 4pm. True story.
