Re: The EPL thread (II)
Haha. I'm sure pretty much anyone in the premiership would have been happy to have him that season. 30 goals in the prem in a season is unbelievable.
Interesting that the first post by Dello on part 1 of this thread was:
How things have changed!

both over tevez? had all 3 but one had to make way ronaldo
Never, Tev has been superb this season, because Ronaldo is having a blinder he is getting less credit than he is due.
Wow what a strike from Flamini!

Oooh! We've managed to get to half time without conceding. Against a half decent team as well.
What's the lowest ever points total in the prem? We need to beat it, for pride's sake.

Liverpool are jokers.
I wish that Portugese knob would stop scoring all the time. The barstards got two more. 19 goals in the prem already this season. And he's a winger.

Lose another game 1-0 to Wet Spam.
2 world class players and a load of average bobbins a team does not make. Maybe 3, but Alonso seems like his mind is in Spain somewhere.

Did anyone see Ronnies free kick? one of the best i have seen.
Can't believe he keeps scoring like that he's on course for a 40+ season.
Oh yeah Liverpool are sh!te.

What about Flamini's one-touch, smack... buried in the top right hand corner ... goal for the Gooners last night ?.
Glad I recorded the match ... has to rank top for the goal of the month.
PS Pourtsmth were shite too - and Scum only won by 2 goals!

Forking hell. Could have been about 6 for United.
The free kick - very good. He's not a classy free kick taker like Zidane, Ronaldinho or Beckham though. Those three are artists. Most of the time, Ronaldo tends to just smack it as hard as he can.
His game is all about pace and power.

Take your Arsenal glasses off! be a true football fan and recognise talent.
Yes Flaminis strike was tops, but the technique displayed when he hit that ball was special, despite how hard he hit the ball the amount of dip he got on it was amazing.

But that's the point - it wasn't 6 against an absolute crap show from Portsmouth.
I suppose the Scum Scot will blame the pitch tomorrow ... ho hum!
Agree ... there are/have been far better free kick takers Ronaldo.

It's much more difficult to hit the target with extreme power rather than curling it.
Not that he is not able to be clever about them check his FK against New and this one i'm sure Zidane would be proud.

Anyone one who doesn't have Ronaldo as their captain in Fantasy Football team should be poked with a big stick and laughed at for being stupid. Anyone who doesn't have him in their team should be shot so they don't pass their genes on.

Perhaps, but he takes loads of free kicks which he bangs and 95% of the time he misses. He's like Robbie Carlos. Great when they come off but a waste the majority of the time.

You can't get more than Merlin about Arsenal.
Btw i'm not sayin Ronnie is a better FK taker than Zidane and the others you mentioned, i was just trying to point out he does not just smack every free kick as hard as he can.

The glasses are off Mak ... honest they are ... but just the one heavily smacked dead ball into the top right hand corner doesn't make Ronaldo the best free kick taker. I repeat, I've seen far better ... anyway, he misses more than he actually scores from that situation !
He has talent - no arguing that .... now if only he'd stay on his feet and not look for that free kick or penalty or "foul" or sending off of the oppo player - maybe I'd have more respect for his real talent as opposed to his acting talent.
Flamini's goal was special, (without the glasses on). Even neutrals I spoke to today agreed.

Look mate when another player runs every game for their team and scores 27 goals in half a season i guarantee i will give him the same props, plus you can't get more than Merlin about Arsenal.
