Yes Flaminis strike was tops, but the technique displayed when he hit that ball was special, despite how hard he hit the ball the amount of dip he got on it was amazing.

The glasses are off Mak ... honest they are ... but just the one heavily smacked dead ball into the top right hand corner doesn't make Ronaldo the best free kick taker. I repeat, I've seen far better ... anyway, he misses more than he actually scores from that situation !
He has talent - no arguing that .... now if only he'd stay on his feet and not look for that free kick or penalty or "foul" or sending off of the oppo player - maybe I'd have more respect for his real talent as opposed to his acting talent. Razz

Flamini's goal was special, (without the glasses on). Even neutrals I spoke to today agreed.

Whatever mate i for one hope he does not change the way he is playing because if keeps going on like he is atm United will win the title, and stop hating i know deep down you wish he was an Arsenal player. Wink

You're entertaining, Albus. I'll give you that.

You're so cyclops that you're almost pirat when it comes to Man United.

Look mate when another player runs every game for their team and scores 27 goals in half a season i guarantee i will give him the same props, plus you can't get more cyclops than Merlin about Arsenal. Very Happy

Btw i'm not sayin Ronnie is a better FK taker than Zidane and the others you mentioned, i was just trying to point out he does not just smack every free kick as hard as he can.

Dude. The post was directed at merlin, not you!

Sorry LLL realised after, edited straight after. Wink

Nice goal from Ballack.

At his peak, he was probably the most complete midfielder of his generation. Brilliant shot, creative, great tackler, covered ground, playmaker, great header, great set piece taker, goalscorer, defender, team man, inspirational leader, lead by example, great captain, box to box, orchestrator.

Maestro. Proper maestro. A bit like Lothar Matthaus when he played in midfield, but better in my opinion.

Pretty much the perfect central midfielder.

it was an awesome free kick, the sky boyos were highlighting his balance upon delivery as being key - they actually rated it the best FK in the history of the EPL...

if he were to miss a few games it would hurt manure bad as it did at the beginning of the season...best player in the world atm imo

United were playing cr@p at the start of the season even when he was playing imo because of the new players brought in e.g Tevez/Nani, if he were to miss a few games now i don't think it will make a massive difference because unlike before Carlos/Anderson have setlled in and Scholes/Giggs are looking excellent.

Ofcourse you will miss a guy who has scored as many goals as he has, but i think they can cope without him for a few games the good thing for United is that Rooney has not hit top form yet and when he does you will see an even better side.

Very few interesting moves in the transfer market today but...

Andy Reid £4m from Charlton to Sunderland - WTF!!!???

Sunderland have more cash than sense. £13m on a porky midfielder and a scottish gk combined. Crazy times...

Just watched the top ten goals of the first decade of the premiership on Youtube again.

Le Tissier's goal where he flicks the ball up with his back heel simply defies belief.

Some of the best goals I've seen include

Gascoigne against Scotland at Euro '96

Poborsky vs Portugal at Euro '96

and Van Basten vs USSR at Euro '88

I haven't been known to ping in many 30 yard three kicks myself- but how is Ronaldo's appreciably different than dozens if not hundreds of others that have perfectly curved and dipped over the wall over the years? Sounds like footballing b*llocks to me.

because to get it to dip down when striking it straight is more difficult - esp at that pace. it was unsavable, top right hand corner

Typical. I make all manner of sacrifices to shoe-horn Ronaldo into my fantasy team, and suddenly he stops scoring.

Opposite Midas touch.

Yeah, but I stripped Adebayor of the captaincy to give it to the wonder-boy Ronnie.

Oh well, it's a marathon not a sprint - I reckon I've happened across a pretty decent side. Should keep me in the mix.

Absolutely, although they were making it hard for themselves missing a few great chances to make it 2-0

Quite impressed by Hutton & Woodgate.

How the hell did Nani stay on for that foul though? Shocked

Aye that was a horrible lunge from Nani should of got red carded, and yes Hutton was class great signing imo.

Going to be an entertaining title race this year you can't really tell whose going to win.

I think i need Adbayor in my team the boy is on fire, hopefully he does not cost much.

Yeah, it gave up on me around the 20 minute mark so I switched to TVU which had a perfect picture.
