Re: English County Season 2013 (II)
Yeah, have been living in South Africa for about 9 months and things are pretty decent. Had a bit of a meltdown before I got out here but life is pretty chilled at present.
Might pop my head in a bit more often. Although I'm going to be here for the return series down under meaning I'll be closer to Australia than usual so I'm not sure that bodes well for us.
How's life in glamorous Northampton?

Sweet - did you go to SA to see that bird that was over there? A change always helps a meltdown.vilkrang wrote:Yeah, have been living in South Africa for about 9 months and things are pretty decent. Had a bit of a meltdown before I got out here but life is pretty chilled at present.

What doesn't bode well is that we've been phoning in the wins
Life is f'awesome, cheers. Especially in the hamptons. I saw this pebble the other day that looked like Jesus, so pretty prestigious.
Notice we're one win away from a semi-final in the YB40 and 2nd in the CC?
Rags to riches.

That bird was probably 70% of my motivation for coming to SA. A couple of months after I got here she shagged some Saffer (who got to know her through me (so a bit of a prick)) then f*cked off back to England.
It's cool though, she was a bit mental anyway, kind of suited me a couple of years ago but I think I've probably dodged a bullet in the long run.
There is a guy here called "Waves" who was trying to claim that a rock looked like Jesus' face. Perhaps you'd get along?
Enjoy the Northants dominance, it will no doubt fall apart when I'm back next year.
And cheers Pete, the accent is coming along lekker, bru.

It's pretty hard to keep up forumming from abroad although if I lived in saffer land there would obvs be more cricket for me to be uninterested in.

'Aunty'!
At least he hasn't forgotten his elderly relations, Ange.
You'll probably get some lavender and hankies from him at some stage.

He's called me his Aunty for quite sometime, it was meant as a complement and I take it as such. Â

I'm sure I'd get on great with Waves - although my Jesus would be better than his.
Gotta enjoy the Caynty wrecking it - I don't know what to do with myself.

You've got to applaud Warks for their cynicism.
Putting out a mixture of veterans and Second XI wannabees, they are rock bottom of their 40over group.
They are getting buried by the Pears, and have been travelling at 3 to 5 an over in the last 10 overs, when the asking rate has gone from 17 to 25.
I know Basil's heart will bleed for their sufferings.
But he will want young Tom Milnes' head - Stourbridge born and bred (the whole body, not just the head) - severed, stuck on a pike and carried round the Bullring nevertheless. As a warning to all traitors.
PS: The Bears have just subsided to a loss of 140 runs. Risible.
Moeen a power in the land.

Were there many at Edgbaston to witness this? Did they show their displeasure at the "final whistle"?
Shows the issues with this competition where there's little to play for with no QF's or promotion/relegation. Not sure if the replacement 50 over competition next season will follow the same format?

Stourbridge hasn't been part of Worcs. since 1974 - and to the best of my knowledge, Milnes has never had any association with us - not that we appear to be missing much.PeterCS wrote:You've got to applaud Warks for their cynicism.

If I was a Bear (and thank the Lord I'm not!) I would be spewing at tonight's "effort." I made it 25 overs of net practice. I hope Somerset thrash them.
Good effort tonight - particularly from the bowlers who, Shantry apart, were as inexperienced as their Bear opposition. A bit of pace from Cessford: he looks like one of those bowlers who hits the bat hard, there's something there for the coaches to work on. The same can be said to a slightly lesser extent about Charlie Morris.
I see green shoots!
