Ashes partnership stats
Thought this might be quite revealing... average for each wicket partnership in the series:
England
1st 22.00
2nd 21.75
3rd 27.50
4th 48.50
5th 82.43
6th 32.43
7th 27.43
8th 18.00
9th 16.83
10th 17.00
Australia
1st 48.63
2nd 17.25
3rd 19.13
4th 54.13
5th 31.88
6th 14.75
7th 12.63
8th 20.00
9th 13.00
10th 53.33
So the Aussies avoid 10th being their best average partnership by a mere 0.8 of a run. For now!

Re: Ashes partnership stats
Second and third wicket stands make for embarrassing reading on both sides.

Re: Ashes partnership stats
Guess they've often involved a nightwatchman for England. Hence the high fifth wicket average, mostly built around instances where it was Bell rather than Bairstow coming in at 6.
(Edit: Only two with a nightwatchman above 6 - I suppose Bairstow has always made double figures, so has somehow managed to build partnerships on most occasions!)
