Re: HB Growler
Thanks all ...... a nice quiet day, will finish it with a wee dram of single malt. A drop of the "Lava of the Cuillins" I think.

Re: HB Growler
Hence its nickname Peter. Like all the Island malts, it's salt and seaweed all the way, with a huge peppery finish.
If it's a bit fiery, I'm guessing you prefer the Speyside malts. Have you ever drank Strathisla? It's one of the best - quite pricey, but well worth the money ... it really does give you a warming carress. A scotch that even folk who don't drink whisky can enjoy.
JD - cheers

Re: HB Growler
Strathisla, yes! (Tho flogged as "the heart of Chivas Regal", it is pleasantly "chocolatey" in itself.)
I do like Speyside, but I do enjoy fire and seaweed sometimes. Just a different take on F&S. Highland Park, with the taste that goes on and on, fr'instance. Some of the Isla's too - Bowmore, "Bun-na-howan" or Ardbeg. All island nectars.
But give me plain old bog standard GlenMORanji (before) or Macallan (after), and I will always be happy.
Just keep that petrol from Glenfiddich away from me! And that wildly erratic medicine from "Lafroyg"!!
