I don't know why they put seeds one and three on the same side of the draw. Generally it should be seeds one and four on the same side.

In any case, the joker had bad draws in a couple of last year's Grand Slams. Whilst Rafa had some easy draws.

So it is now evening out, I guess.

Three and four are randomly assigned to the top and bottom draw, and I think that is the way it should be.

Even without the easier draw though, I would still have thought Djokovic has a greater chance than Nadal.

So Pommy Laura Robson is the first player to lose a match in this year's tournament.

Did anyone choose a tennis player in the Celebrity croak thingy? One could easily snuff it over the next few days

 

Matt Ebden wins the first two sets, loses the next two, goes 4-1 up in the fifth, breaks again at 4-4, serves for the match, holds 3 match points and...











WINS!   

And fark me if Sam Stosur hasn't won in straight sets.

One unfortunate byproduct of Aussies winning though is that it guarantees that all the night matches will almost certainly feature them until they are eliminated. Meanwhile more appealing matches will be on during the day.
