Netherlands and UAE, probably.
Sadly, Kenya's best days seem to be behind them.

PNG gave Uganda a flogging. Is the ex-Pom Aussie wicketkeeper playing for them?

GJ might finally get a WC match.
(His run as England's keeper fell neatly between two world cups.)

Hmm, PNG have won their first two, v Kenya and Uganda, and a handsome NRR. Still have Namibia and Netherlands to play, then Super Sixes.
ZOMG Steve Tikolo is still playing. On present results, Kenya are prolly not going to qualify so he will not get to play in his sixth world cup.

Re: 2014 Cricket World Cup Qualifier
It was amazing how well Kenya did at cricket in the 1996-2003 era. I had assumed cricket was popular there until I visited and I saw that there really is only a handful of cricket clubs, often the preserve of the white and Asian minorities, and most of the people in the country had never played cricket before or even have any familiarity with the rules. Aside from middle distance running which is a national obsession the main sport was football, which was surprising also as for a reasonably wealthy and resource rich country (by African standards) with a population of 40 million Kenya have achieved bugger all in football compared to much smaller West African countries.
Re: 2014 Cricket World Cup Qualifier
Geez, Canada have gone to shit since the days of Barrel Jon Davison (now Aus spin coach). Beaten in this tournament so far by UAE and Hong Kong.

Is there actually a Canadian, UAEian or Hong Kongese player in any of these teams?

Presuming you mean "born" players, I'd have to check but perhaps there are some 2nd generation (i.e. born in the country of migrant parentage) ex-Indian, Pakistani, Sri Lankan, West Indians in their ranks.

Go the 'Barramundii'. They could be a bit of a surprise packet. I was stunned the amount of money and resources going into PNG cricket.

Re: 2014 Cricket World Cup Qualifier
he WACA wishes to congratulate Western Australian umpire Mick Martell ahead of his international debut in New Zealand for the 2015 ICC Cricket World Cup qualifier between the Netherlands and Kenya on Thursday.
Martell was endorsed for inclusion on the International Panel of Umpires last month and now gets his opportunity at the international level.
The 47-year-old former WA First Grade cricketer has umpired more than 30 Sheffield Shield matches as well as domestic One-Day and T20 finals.
"His elevation to the ICC panel is reward for many years of dedicated hard work,” WACA Umpires Coordinator Barry Rennie said.
"This is excellent recognition for Mick and for the work that he has put into developing umpiring in WA.
"It should act as an incentive for all umpires in the WACA umpiring family to continue to strive to be the best that they can at whatever level they may be umpiring."
Martell is renowned for his very personable style and for being a great communicator with players. He also balances work with the Fire brigade, Real Estate business and umpiring.

I don't know the nationalities of the players.
In terms of birthplace: two are from Canada, four are from Hong Kong, two are from the UAE.
It's a migratory world ... where would the England team be without players born outside of England?

Doubt it
They are promoting young guys (under 30) and guys with a higher level cricket playing background than I have
Also something about "body image" seems to have crept into the requirements since Peter Parker retired

Phurt. Shirley "best man for the job" is the only criteria that counts?
Would you pursue it if approaches indicated you were highly regarded enough to make the step? Or is the process more complicated than that?
Personally, my back wouldn't allow me to stand upright for 6 hours 4 days straight.
