Re: West Indies v England, 3xODIs + 3xT20s, 28 February - 13 March, 2014
I'm starting to think that Joe Root should only be picked by England in the middle order. Keep him there. Don't shunt him around anymore.
Broad's captaincy is better than Cook's, but it still needs some work. He over-bowled himself, and under-bowled Moeen. His own ODI bowling form has been shite for a while now.
The Stokes at three experiment should be abandoned. He's better off at five or six.
Unfortunately, Bresnan has done just enough to stay in this side, and you know he'll get hammered for 8 runs an over when it really matters.

every team is counting on that

So, what did we learn? Joe Root is all right against rubbish attacks. Knew that anyway.
Jos Buttler's a dangerous player when he comes off. Knew that.
Moeen Ali's beard is a thing of wonder. Common knowledge.
Waste of everyone's time.

Bring Cook and Bell back into this team and they will be world-beaters... at being 40-2 after 10 overs, at least.

Moeen's batting has a real touch of class about it. He reminds me of Saeed Anwar, but with an English-like habit of chucking it away in the 40s and 50s.

I'd stick with Lumb and Moeen at the top of the order. Of course, they'll bring Cook straight back in though......

Moeen Ali reminds me vaguely of Hashim Amla, for some reason.
I mean, it's not even an anagram.

What was the point of having DRS when Snicko and Hotspot weren't available?

And how about Erasmus, eh. What a timid umpire. "No, not out, not out, not out....oh, ok, you've appealed for a REALLY long time...umm...out"

A blessing in disguise for Root, I reckon. Now he can just focus on a solid pre-season with Yorkshire. He's well overdue a rest, anyway.

Saw Parry bowl 2 overs and thought he was pump! Doesn't spin it even on these decks, so he's going to get smashed!
Bresnan is just terrible, guaranteed to be picked.
Gashley's won a series against a Windies 2nd team, so he's guaranteed the job now!
Only thing I will say is the Broad looks a decent Captain to me! If only now he would insist on us bowling F@CKNG YORKERS at the death!

One of the things I hate about T20 is the way it rewards non-spinning spinners on slow pitches. Bowlers who can't buy a FC wicket have no right to an international career! I think I'd rather the format had totally eradicated slow bowling as was predicted at the start.

I'm just waiting for the India England series.
