Re: English Domestic Season (2014)
Jesus - I think Trev lobbed some semen at him before he'd even played adult cricket.
Re: English Domestic Season (2014)
Leicestershire and Derbyshire match postponed after Derbyshire keeper Tom Poynton is injured in a car crash which proved fatal for his dad.
Rough times.

Re: English Domestic Season (2014)
Morgan made the mistake of playing FC cricket to stake his claim for tests. Gone first ball today.
Meanwhile, Samit Patel's got Notts out of a bit of bother.

Ohhh Pedro. Luis Reece: Trevved.
Even Angelos Epithemiou couldn't save you.
Or Achwell.
But, at least Wayne's World is in.
In other news, Xavi Bopara and Twat Prior are doing ok.

And I think Prior was dropped early on off Finn! That helps know one!

Chroist - all these bowling line-ups are pretty dobberlicious and they're running amok. No wonder we're shitheap - the no-marks get two thirds of their season tally by mid-May and then coast thereafter. There's no hope. No hope at all.

Xavi? If only he had the class and consistency of the Spanish midfield maestro...Brass Monkey wrote:In other news, Xavi Bopara and Twat Prior are doing ok.

Re: English Domestic Season (2014)
I'd have him in the Test side: Ali Cook likes him. They'll be really great together in the hotel karaoke.
Re: English Domestic Season (2014)
I like Bopeep.
Laid back, unfazed, pretty relaxed and far from animated in a crisis (unlike the lip chewing, nail biting qunt Cook) - he bowls a decent few overs when required and can bat pretty well - a decent all rounder - BUT, he needs a run in the side.
He's been tossed between test, ODI and T20 teams for the past 2 years, the poor bugger doesn't know whether he's coming or going!

Re: English Domestic Season (2014)
I notice an editor of another website had this to say about England fans' favourite whipping boy Jade Dernbach. Perhaps Brass Monkey has a nom de plume.
Jade Dernbach is a record breaker
It has long been known that Jade Dernbach has the worst economy rate of any bowler to put down 1000 deliveries in ODI cricket. After this tournament he now has the worst economy rate of any player that has bowled 100 overs in T20 internationals. That level of sustained ineptness is impressive, both from Dernbach and the England selectors. Perhaps they should let him play in Tests so he can complete the set.

I think this is more Dello's field of expertise. I'd have just called him a girlish mockney qunt.

Whoever that is should stop nicking my stuff.
"Turdsack now has the honour of having the worst T20 economy of all time, along with the worst ODI economy of all time.
Get him in the Test side - he's a record breaker." (29th March 2014)

Morgan makes 0 and 2 in his bid to win back a test spot.
Surrey in tatters against Glamorgan- 76/8, leading by 147 with 2 1/2 sessions left in the match.
Moeen pressing his case for a test spot- 54 not out against Hampshire.

No, the sticking point will be whether England start winning again or not. A series loss to Sri Lanka in June and I reckon Cook is gone.

Cook and Trott both top scored today... with scores in the 30s in sub-100 totals
Runs for Taylor and Ballance and wickets for Finn, to continue the England prospects watch.

Cook in the runs. Robson in the runs. Morgan in the runs. Bopara in the half runs. Ronald in the runs. Finn in the wickets. Jordan in the wickets. Everything is sweetness. Everything is light.
Re: English Domestic Season (2014)
Moeen with (a few) runs and 3 wickets too.

Re: English Domestic Season (2014)
I notice James Vince made 140 odd at close to a run a ball. He's the sort of player England should be looking at. Preference should be given to players who play attacking cricket.
