Re: English Domestic Season (2014)
Well, another reason to have DRS universally, why isn't it being used in major domestic finals, is India controlling those as well?
Anyway, Birmingham Bears are clearly much better than that Warwickshire lot who usually play at Edgbaston... Freddie very nearly snatched it for Lancs late on, but why the fark was he batting at 9?

I did think that the result might have been different if he'd been higher up but I guess the fact he has been out for a while meant they probably didn't have much faith in his batting.beamer wrote:Well, another reason to have DRS universally, why isn't it being used in major domestic finals, is India controlling those as well?

Re: English Domestic Season (2014)
Yeah, but what's to lose by putting him a couple of places higher... he won't have lost the ability to strike a cricket ball and when you're chasing 12 an over then that's exactly what you need!

Yup, he wouldn't have wasted many balls even if he was out early. Not saying I agree with them, just pondering their thought process!

Re: English Domestic Season (2014)
He looked more likely to win a T20 match with the bat than KP does at the moment. Any chance of an IPL contract?

Re: English Domestic Season (2014)
I thought Fred was going to do it, I didn't think he had it in him. Nor did he - he didn't bat higher because he's apparently very unconfident with his batting. Reckoned he could hold his own bowling, but hasn't been anywhere near passable with the bat.
Crazy with the ball - didn't go above 80.5 - Bumble reckoned he'd be majorly disappointed with that. Looked fighting fit, but has struggled with a calf strain, which could've been hindering him.
Does this mean Lancs go to the IPL wankfest. Sorry, I mean Champion's League IPL wankfest?

Roy batted like KP used to.

His family isn't as nice as Cook's either.

Word is that Mark Footitt is back on the radar of the England selectors again.....10 years after he first was.

You bastard ... 10 years to recover, and now you've done him over again.

Not too surprised by Footitt being on the radar, although I don't know where the word came from. He's got about 100 wickets @ 25 in the last two years. He was bowling 85-odd when I saw him and he's a left-armer. You'd think he's country miles away from any senior side though.
Re: English Domestic Season (2014)
agree with lardy...what has Mudge got against Mark Footitt???

To be fair to Henry, I think it was JK Lever who was enthusiastic about Footit

Mitch Mclenaghan - a late contender for the Shane Lee award for most ineffectual overseas signing.

Thought Graeme Smith had already sewn that one up.

Everyone. At least Aus/SA and Eng. The bloke is a massive cock, but he can bloody well bat. Bat good and proper.
Re: English Domestic Season (2014)
Yorkies win t'battle t'roses, Dilly Rashid backing up his unbeaten 150 with the bat with a match winning five-fer.
Eight wickets in the match. "England's" Simon Kerrigan took one and scored one run.
Kind of weird how keen England are desperate to ease one of these guys into the set up. 37 wickets @ 34 this season for Kerrigan. 36 @ 26 for Rashid (plus runs @ 43).
But I'm sure they know what they're doing...

Re: English Domestic Season (2014)
I think he should be renamed 'Simon Lancs'.
I also think Adil Rashid should be renamed to 'Adellosmeg Rashid'.

Teenager Sam Hain's third hundred of his debut season as Warwicks draw with Middlesex.

Andrew Gale suspended for the remaining two games of Yorkshire's title run-in for “using language or gesture that is obscene or of a serious insulting nature to another player, umpire, referee, team official or spectator”.
Sounds totally disproportionate, rather like Jimmygate... unless a punch is thrown I don't think players should be suspended - get into the 21st century, cricket.
