Bet they wish ManU fielded a cricket team

Yeah, very Gooch-like. About 50 seconds in:

Basil wrote:84 all out plays 198/3. Blimey, just as well we're already up. Pity we didn't take another two wickets to prompt a pitch inspection!
Steve Rhodes has had a little cry about the pitch. Having watched the highlights he might want to have a little cry about some of his batsmen's shot selection as well. Pitch looked green but seam movement didn't seem extravagant for any of the wickets, just Jesse Ryder dobbing it on a length and letting the ball do the rest. Any opinions Bas?

So where does Jesse Ryder rank among the great allrounders of world cricket?

I think only Stuart Binny is above him.

Possible but unlikely. I'd like to think all professional cricketers know handling the ball results in a dismissal.

Although, I seem to remember Gooch hung around a bit but that was more disbelief at what he'd done rather than not knowing he was out. Maybe that was the same for Pujara.

Re: English Domestic Season (2014)
Hmmm, what's the craic with Middx / Lancs again? Looks like a possible humdinger down there - Middx 214, Lancs 246/6....
Re: English Domestic Season (2014)
Lankies 258 fer 6 off 95 overs.
Basically the wankers at Middlesex need to bag the remaining 4 wickets - Â before bowling 110 overs -
to secure safety with the 3 bowling points.
Their batting has let them down badly (not that their bowling's any better) ! Â If Buck Rogers and/or Dawid Malan and/or Dexter don't score, then we're f**ked. Denly, Morgan, Robson all f**k ups when the pressure's on ...
I've resigned myself to Middlesex playing 2nd Div cricket next season in the desperate hope that that qunt Fraser gets the bullet ... but sadly he won't - being so far up Giles Clarke's and the ECB arses he's lost sight of daylight.
Qunts....
Top of the table after 6 games - now scrapping to avoid relegation.

Re: English Domestic Season (2014)
Well, you can hit the ball twice legally to defend your stumps, so perhaps some batsmen assume the same to be true for handling the ball...MoH wrote:Although, I seem to remember Gooch hung around a bit but that was more disbelief at what he'd done rather than not knowing he was out. Moving swiftly on - just the two days to bat for the Pears then to secure the Div. 2 championship.

Heck no. I reckon it's likely to rain, anyway, we've had two full day's play, which is a bit worrying at this time of year. We're going to end up winless, with a record low points total. That we deserve too, let us crash down with the height of ignominy...
Re: English Domestic Season (2014)
Shout out to Kettleborough, Stone, Duckett and Keogh though.
With Wakely, Newton, Crook and Willey, they form a decent nucleus. Apparently we're getting Levi as a non-overseas and Kleinveldt as our overseas, so we could have an OK side next year.

Yeah!
Meanwhile, Northants have already announced the signing of Adam Rossington and Josh Cobb and are confident that Richard Levi will be signed as a non-overseas player. They have also identified South African allrounder Rory Kleinveldt as their first choice overseas player, but it is understood they will not pursue an interest in released Yorkshire offspinner, Azeem Rafiq.
Fat f*ck, but he made an impact in the FC games he played
Re: English Domestic Season (2014)
Levi is like Warner without the talent.
