With everyone wearing Brazilians perhaps carpet munching is obselete.

Even among the stronger cricketing associates, I can only think of the Dutch who are on the board.
The US played the first international cricket match?

Suarez accused of another bite. If that's proven then surely that's next season written off for him.
Costa Rica top the group ahead of Uruguay... what odds could you have got on that?

Re: Football World Cup 2014
So Supermario's quip before the Italy v Costa Rica match that he expected a kiss on the cheek from Liz Windsor after that match looks even more droll now. Doing favours? Only if you're good enough to bestow 'em!
Feel sorry for Andy Pirlo though. From the games I've seen (admittedly only a handful), he and Modric looked the standout midfielders of the tourney. (The latter looked a fish out of water when stuck up in the hole last night though. Cramped for space, no freedom to roam and set the play up.)
Both still look wizards. Poise, determination and creative ideas in action, constantly tackling, switching play, and spurring their teams on.
Both of them now on their way home.
Teammates not good enough, perhaps. Or lacking a bit of bite? Pity.

Just seen a table showing England have had the most goal scoring opportunities up to now.
Peculiar.

It'll just be an international ban.
The guy is an actual psychopath.

I don't know who's counting up the stats, but sounds like bollocks to me. They've been laboured and predictable in pretty much every game. Since 1998.
Re: Football World Cup 2014
It's his third offence, surely FIFA have to enforce a worldwide ban from all football of some length? Liverpool see £80m go up in smoke and Man Utd's new manager thinks all his Christmases have come at once, even before possibly winning the World Cup with Holland!Dello wrote:beamer wrote:Suarez accused of another bite. FIFA won't do shit. They didn't even give Pepe a three match ban for headbutting Muller.
He got the same punishment as for deliberate handball.

Re: Football World Cup 2014
When he was in tears about how the English press have treated him harshly (for being a racist biter) after the England game I did think that maybe he should be in some sort of institution. He seems to be genuinely mental ill and I had a feeling something like this might be on the way. Unhinged isn't strong enough, I'm struggling to think of a bigger head case in football.Dello wrote:beamer wrote:Suarez accused of another bite. Re: Football World Cup 2014
Man o man. How lucky are Colombia to get this lot of opponents - the "Group of Life". And still they are starting to muff up the golden opportunity.
Yes I know. There is a bit of pretty football even in this backwater group. And the odd world-class player, where not superannuated.
But all the knocked-out teams - yea, even sad old 2-goal, 1-point Engerlund - must be looking at this group with yearning eyes. "If only ..."
I'd have taken Italy, for example, to take any one of them by 2 or 3. Even Oz would have "been" a chaince.
