According to this [ http://www.iffhs.de/the-strongest-national-league-of-the-world/ ] they are 3 of the 4 strongest leagues in the world.

Re: Football World Cup 2014
Apparently* (reports FoxSports News) Suarez is claiming Chiellini shouldered him in the mouth. Sorry Luis, that's not what the replay shows.

Slater slags Foster's SBS match commentary to which Foster replies "your thoughts are shit".
I tend to agree more with Foster.
I don't know the history.
But have you heard Foster commentate?
The man is the most one-sided commentator ever. It is actually disgusting to listen to. By all means wear your heart on your sleeve and barrack for your home country. But he takes it a step too far.

Yeah, he's biased, but he at least puts some knowledgeable analysis into it. Slater is just a nob.

No doubt that he is knowledgeable, analytical and insightful like say a Peter Sterling is for League.
But fark - it does not make up for the bias.

I've always thought Forster was a bit of a "football wanker". Hates EPL, creams himself over Serie A and La Liga etc.
Slater is a nob though, no doubt.

Meh, to each their own. He is commentating to an Australian audience afterall.
One of my fave ever pieces of football commentary is still Foster jizzing all over the commbox when Aloisi put in the winning spot kick v Uruguay to get us to our most successful World Cup (2006).

Re: Football World Cup 2014
Not sure if that is a bit tongue in cheek (shirley you saw it on replay a million times??) but here it is. Turn the volume up and go to the 6 min 28 sec mark.JGK wrote:skully wrote:Paul Keating wrote:No doubt that he is knowledgeable, analytical and insightful like say a Peter Sterling is for League.

FIFA charge the Spaghetti Eater
"FIFA can confirm that disciplinary proceedings have been opened against the player Luis Suarez of Uruguay following an apparent breach of art. 48 and/or art. 57 of the FIFA Disciplinary Code during the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil™ match Italy-Uruguay played on 24 June 2014. The player and/or the Uruguayan FA are invited to provide with their position and any documentary evidence they deem relevant until 25 June 2014, 5pm, Brasilia time."
--------------------------------
Good luck, Luis, you're gonna need it to avoid a 2 year ban.

Re: Football World Cup 2014
He can f*ck right off. Hopefully a 2 year ban, and not just on internationals. But they'll buckle and give him a 7 match ban or some weak shit.
Tabarez's post match interview was quite pathetic really.

You can bet your left nut that it'll be an "internationals only" ban. FIFA will be as weak as piss on this.
If it is only a ban on representing Uruguay, the least they should do is make it a 4 year ban so he can't take part in any Uruguay qualifiers for the next WC.

Re: Football World Cup 2014
A savvy punter
"A GAMBLER in Norway has won more than $1000 after betting that Luis Suarez would bite another player during this morning’s World Cup blockbuster between Uruguay and Italy.
According to AftenPosten , Norway’s largest newspaper, Thomas Syversen bet 32 krone (about six Australian dollars) before the match at odds of 175/1. So when Suarez chewed on Italian defender Giorgio Chiellini’s shoulder during a spiteful second half, Mr Syversen earned himself a nice payday of $A1092."
----------------------------------------
The punter added “This is probably the sickest bet I’ve handed in, not to mention the sickest bet I’ve won,” Mr Syversen told the AftenPosten".

Nah skulls.
He'll just backhand a couple of million quid to Sepp Blatter and he'll be playing next season.
It works like that in FIFA.

Re: Football World Cup 2014
Latest conjecture on the wires (well FoxSports) is FIFA will hit him hard with an international ban (up to 2 years) and the Scousers may top the 10 week ban they dropped on him for biting Chelsea's Ivanovic last year.
