Re: The Football Thread 2014/15
Roy Hodgson didn't even think those fancy dans, Messi and Ronaldo, had any place in his top three of Mascherano, Lahm and Neuer.
Bodes well for England's future, his vision of what makes a great player...
In no way like a couple of high school bitches, neither Ronaldo nor Messi found a place for each other in their respective top threes.

Aye; shows immaturity.
Similarly, every time Warnie chooses his 'Greatest Australian XI of my time', or 'All-time greatest Australian ODI XI' etc; he names Mark Waugh, but not Steve. It's transparent and pathetic.

I'm assuming David Luiz has evidence about the Qatar bid.

Ronaldo and Messi not voting for each other is just a case of turkeys not voting for Christmas, even if they didn't dislike each other... although it shows individual awards matter more to them than perhaps they should.
Nobody should be allowed to vote for a club team-mate or someone of the same nationality though.

what is odd is the inclusion of Mark Waugh not the exclusion of the redinking KSnr

It's odd that either of them make his side; the pointed selection of MEW over SRW just makes Warnie look petty.

Aus, remarkably, actually able to demonstrate good one-touch football and, even more remarkably, score goals in the Asia Cup.

Aye, most probably. I'm just so used to seeing poor control and flubbed shots at goal from the Aus national side. The form shown in the 2 games so far has been mildly enjoyable.

Definitely signs of improvement from the WC, will get a better gauge of things vs South Korea.
As it stands Oman were 7 spots ahead of Aus, and they put 4 past them

To be fair, the best sides, they build from the back Gary, y'know what I mean.

Garbage game. Crappy non-league pitch probably didn't help, but it was dire.
And now key players are injured for more important games to come. Shouldn't have bothered. Wasn't worth it. Should've played the kids and rested the first team players. If you lose you lose, it's only the stinking FA Cup.
Ah well, on to Newcastle for their third away game in six days at some ugly shitheap or other. Thanks, fixture compilers.
Re: The Football Thread 2014/15
You're through to the 4th round. The winning streak continues. You kept a clean sheet.
All is good.
The lad that did the hammy was wasting a lot of possession anyway. Count your blessings. Then your sheep.

To a team ranked about 60 places ahead of them.
Aus had their chances but too slow in transition from defence to attack, enabling South Korea to get the numbers back to defend.

And they missed 3-4 sitters. You'd be more worried if they lost without creating the chances.

Aye, it was the bad old version of Aus. They played OK and set up plenty of chances but couldn't put away beautifully laid on goal opportunities. Very disappointing. Now destined to play Japan before the Final.
