softest current players in test cricket - in decline
well... looks to me like test cricket is toughening up and that there are fewer softies around..
surveying the field the only softies I can see in the top 3 are
Saffies - Snorkel, Duminy
Oz - Schoolgirl
Poms - I Ron Bollard
of the rest the Banindian xi feature - 'cept for Ashtray...and I guess minus the incomparable Shiv so do the windies
Most of the Snoozies seem hard core as do most of Lankans and Stannies and even the zimbos have toughened up and punch above their weight..
What do others think

Sorry, but when I saw the thread heading, I was simply unable to look beyond Twatson. Full stop.

Actually saw it earlier MB and my first thought was has anyone had more failures with attempted wind ups than horrie? Even Bucky has a better hit rate.

Actually think he's played through the pain pretty well. You can hardly tell he's hindered. Bad backs ent nuttin ta fock wid.
Re: softest current players in test cricket - in decline
and I defend monty.... not in the last 5-0 but the previous 5-0 whitewash, Monty along with flintosser and Colly were the ones who had a go when everything had goan to crap...Monty left that tour with head up knowing he had given his best - as opposed to weazels like I Ron B who remain in the team to this day

Bell pretty much won an Ashes series off his own bat a year ago. Stats showed that he was quite literally the difference between the two sides.

Re: softest current players in test cricket - in decline
I Ron Bellard remains the most over rated English player by English fans ...
he was a frightened weazel here in the 5-0 whitewashes and has never really copped a comeuppance
By contrast Monty has performed wholeheartedly (inc in the face of certain defeat) in losses and wins and outperformed the over rated Chinhead a number of times when they were both selected... Monty remains an unfullfilled talent who I expect will never play for the Poms again
