All out for 139. Windies cricket in crisis again.

And Saffies are 0/24 off 4 overs.
HTF did the Windies win that first test?

SA cricket board decided the players needed a rest.

Saffies should have a 100 run lead by stumps.

Must have dropped in a different pitch at the innings change as well...HH_pink wrote:Yes, by cloud seeding.

It looks like the sort of pitch that will flatten out a lot and be a belter for batting by tomorrow afternoon.

Poor Effort from Windies. They finally had a chance to win a series against a half-decent team and may already have blown it.

Looking more and more like that first test was the exception that proved the rule.

They were quite competitive in the 2nd test as well. It's stupid to expect a sudden sea change.

Shocking Display of batting from the Windies, but if this pitch flattens out as mentioned above and SAF keep batting on till midway through Saturday, then if Windies can bat long enough they can possibly salvage a draw. Tomorrow will be so key for the West Indies, they need to rough up Amla and Capt' Fantastic. Too many loose deliveries today I feel.

If S.A. can keep scoring at >4 runs per over, they can declare well before close of play tomorrow with a 300 plus lead. Three day test anyone?

Re: South Africa v WI, 3rd Test, Durban, 10-14 Jan
Today the bowling was poor as well as the batting, but as we have shown in the other 2 tests we have the makings of an excellent pace attack. Fidel is clearly not 100% fit and Bravo not being able to bowl is a huge blow.
The batting is really poor anyway, but if you consider that Gayle and Sarwan are out and Shiv has the flu then we have no chance at all.
Ganga, Smith and Morton are clearly not good enough for this level, we have to give the likes of Chattergoon and Ryan Hinds a chance. The best alternatives we have are Barath and Pollard who are 17 and 19 years old respectively, and we need to give them at least one more year of FC cricket before they get into the side.

Chanderpaul should be batting at three, I don't know what he's doing at five.

Agree, as clearly the side's best batsman I don't know what he's doing down at #5.

I guess they're thinking that Sarwan will return soon to the number 3 position, and they want to give Samuels an opportunity to cement his spot at number 4. So long term, it's best if Shiv stays at 5.
Sarwan
Samuels
Chanderpaul
Bravo
Pretty talented middle order, imo. Potentially lots of runs, but unfortunately, only Chanderpaul is playing to his potential at the moment.
