Kallis fails again. Out for only 74.

Kallis really threw away a century there. Still, i've enjoyed his aggresive batting in the last few months. Hope it continues.

Sarwan
Samuels
Chanderpaul
Bravo
Pretty talented middle order, imo. Potentially lots of runs, but unfortunately, only Chanderpaul is playing to his potential at the moment.
there was no prospect of Sarwan returning to the side in this series so shiv should have moved up
anyway why should Sarwan have such a hold on the no.3 spot, he has averaged sub 35 in each of 2005/6 and 7. Sarwan & Shiv's whole games seem better suited to each other's spots, when you consider speed of scoring, batting with the tail, comfort against the new ball etc
shiv shouldn't be batting at 5 irrespective, but I feel he likes the shelter of the no.5 spot

WIFAN wrote:Today the bowling was poor as well as the batting, but as we have shown in the other 2 tests we have the makings of an excellent pace attack. Fidel is clearly not 100% fit and Bravo not being able to bowl is a huge blow.
He was still bowling 90+ mph from what I saw yesterday, I find it very difficult to discover adequate excuses for this guy.
Conceding 6/7 runs per over in seamer friendly conditions, is a thing of deep disgust

When TF did Prince get his test average up to 43?!

Prince has been pretty consistent for the last 2 years. Nothing really spectacular, but lots of handy 60's and 70's whilst Kallis has got the headlines for the big scores.

Surely the Saffies are going to declare. 401 ahead, it's rubbing it in a bit now.

The 6 WI bowlers may all concede centuries, this must be some record

Oh dear.
Still, 23/0 at close of play with Parchment in particular looking in no trouble at all, which probably means he will play a loose shot tomorrow and get out straight away.
I think Shiv was off the field for most of today with Flu, so Im guessing that means he will have to bat at 7.
Not looking good at all, could well be a 3 day test.

WIFAN, you're right about Parchment being a Marlon Samuels clone.

Yep, silky technique, elegance personified, too cool for cricket, very little production. He is like a slightly lesser form of Samuels IMO, though I hope he proves me wrong in a big way starting from tomorrow.

Yeah, it doesn't look like he has the ability to completely dominate an attack like Samuels can. Still, he looks useful. Him and Gayle would be the coolest opening partnership of all time, that's for sure.

Countdown eh Taipan?
I noticed that Morne Morkel has taken a few early wickets in his comeback to first class cricket after injury.

Never mind. 3-134. Looks like 2-1 in a canter for the Yarps. Good recovery after the shock of T1. Sounds like a bit of luck with tosses and pitch conditions as well, but thems the breaks sometimes.

Dwayne Bravo is a class act. I think he's got one of the best techniques in the Windies side. Some of the shots he has played today have been top drawer.

There is without doubt talent in the WI side, but not enough in depth that they can possibly cope without players of Gayle & Sarwans class.
Good to see them putting up a fight 2nd innings.
