next Oz captain post Clarke
GSC is in the press today opining that Mitch Marsh will be a future Oz captain...
if Clarke were to retire post Ashes 2015, I wonder who the candidates would be?
Mitch Marsh would be considered too inexperienced and young
Haddit surely will have gone by then
Schoolgirl similarly must be near retirement - tho the selectors may well have finally lost patience
Cannot believe Warner would be allowed near captaincy
which prolly means Australia's answer to I Ron B, Steve Smith
other alternatives?
of State captains only Vogues impresses....Bailey is not up to State cricket, the jellies have a saffie, Vic have a keeper and Hartley/Hopes are too ancient...

What are you talking about "hit thanks".
I've checked a few threads I've started and I can't see any such button. Maybe it's only new threads?

Re: next Oz captain post Clarke
Anyway, could be a tough task for whoever takes over... the generation of Clarke, Haddin, Rogers, Watson, Johnson and Harris is coming to the end of the road and few of the younger players have really established themselves. That said, there's so few quality Test sides out there that Australia would still probably be pushing top three without any of those.
I can't imaging Australia picking a captain who isn't an established member of the team, doesn't seem to be their way at all.

Re: next Oz captain post Clarke
Surely it's a field of one....take away the WC factor and they'd have already announced it (as they did for Clarke in 2007 when there was absolutely no urgency whatever), and made him Akela for the one day teams. TBH I can't see why they haven't done that anyway.
