I was never anti-Clarke. I was anti him making himself bigger than the game. I didn't feel the need to yell from the rooftops he should have been excluded for the first incessantly as I had already said twice on other threads if they picked him the twelth man should just be the best fielder in the country.
He needs constant physio, which is fine, but he hadn't had any for a week and a half or more before the first test. Of course something was going to happen.

terrific decision...the SF will know how to place a field!...
I too hope it does not muck his batting around...I admit to being totally wrong about him....initially I could could not see what he brought to the table ...
thankfully it outs paid to thoughts of clotto or haddin - who now are hanging by a thread - and the GCS, who lacks the brain power and temperament to lead

With Aus playing two left armers India should definitely pick Ashwin to try and use the rough they will create.

Haze is limited and Starc is a pure white ball bowler...instant way to lose our advantage at the Gabbattoir

Well Siddle looked out of gas from ball one at Adelaide, and Harris obviously can'y play back to back tests anymore.

I don't love having 2 lefties in the side I admit.

Haze seems to have got a bit of mongrel in him of late and got his length right, and Koo bowled us to a Test win in Hobart not that long ago.
I'm happy for the jury to be out just yet.

2 years ago ...and he was outbowled by Cot in that game
I'm not convinced by Starc's red ball game ...(very good with a white ball)

Once the ball stops swinging (which it doesn't in ODIs these days with the two balls), Starc becomes a bit floaty. He bowls a similar pace to Johnson, but his short stuff doesn't seem to have the same venom.

On Sunday somebody floated the possibility of Rhino as interim captain....wouldn't have minded but never likely to happen surely?

We probably haven't made enough of the Marsh brothers playing a Test together.
You might query their claims to a Test spot but it is still a wonderful achievement for the family. Only the 7th set of Aust brothers to play together.
