skully wrote:Midge is safe as houses. They will regret leaving Cot out of this Test, particularly if he was off in Adelaide with a stomach bug as was rumoured. Koo looked so underdone it wasn't funny, so he's gone. The best attack we can put on the park ATM is Midge, Rhino, Hazy and Elmer.
On that, hopefully Hazy now knows he's good enough and moves on to become a useful impersonation of the mighty Pidg.
Play Hilfy (so he can reach 100 Test wickets)

Hilfy should have played in Brisbane. Swing bowler, workhorse ... what were they thinking choosing Starc? Not sure Starc even had form going into the game. Let's hope he makes a few runs ...

Starc had taken a few wickets in his last Shield game and played the 2nd test in the UAE (and didn't suck).

"Sorry Brad, we think you're struggling a bit too much, so I'll go around the wicket and serve up a half-tracker on your hip so you can get going."
Stupid idiots.

Looks like Instant Karma, trying to bounce out Midge despite being a mediocre 130ish km/h

He's scored 91 runs in 7 Tests since the Ashes.
He's now embarrassing himself.

India are letting their desire to act all fired up get in the way of them actually remembering to play good cricket.

Apparently* Rohit sledged Midge as he walked in asking him how many wickets he took.
Doesn't sound like the smartest thing to do when you might be battig later in the day.

Rohit certainly doesn't strike me as the sharpest tool in the box. For a start, Johnson has so many comebacks at his disposal, seeing as it was Rohit who sledged him.

Did Tweak dodge a bullet with that lb shout? It looked close. Ah, no, hit him outside off. Nice work Gouldie.

Just when India needed to step up, they've collapsed into a heap. Mentally weak.

Ironic stuff. The Bannies have attempted to get the mental edge on Aus with heavy sledging and intimidatory bowling, but it's backfired deluxe.Henry wrote:Just when India needed to step up, they've collapsed into a heap. Mentally weak.

That's a cracking shot to bring up a cracking 50. Well played, Midge. Good for his bowling confidence as well.

India are bowling so badly here, you could legitimately ask if there is some fixing going on. Absolutely brainless stuff.
