Meh, look at the polls.
Abbott is doing more harm to his already ruined reputation. Bishop continues to plough on un-affected.

what this country needs is unearned windfall taxon lan rezoning deals.the tories in Vic before losing office doubled the Melbourne CBD boundary, rewarding tory landowners. It also needs an inquiry into economic spying on East Timor. This was for the benefit. Of Woodside and the then tory foreign minister.

Almost unremaed o is the announcement by the govt that bankrupts can discharge their bankruptcy in 1 year instead of 3. This decision is to encourage entrepreneurs! Wonder what creditors think.

Different issue but it seems Pell is in deep trouble. At issue is whether conspiracy charges will be launched. Perhaps the MM and his gumtree fridge will visit him.
Of course Pell will.hide out in the Vatican.
No gods,no Hillsong,no mullas, no proddies, no jehova,no buddhis, no more arrant childish nonsense that ends up protecting abusers.

Gumtree = appropriate seeing as how both Tony and George are well and truly up one, esp George.
'O'Beseley' was so bloody obvious it's amazing it's taken until his last days in his last job for anybody to mention it. (Are Boof or Warney in the running to replace Joe when his term runs out?)
I think the Latin version of the 'country member' joke was found scribbled on the walls of the city hall in the wreckage of Pompeii...

Bronwyn Bishop wants to stay in Parliament to 'fight terrorism'
December 9, 2015 - 4:45PM
Bronwyn Bishop says she will recontest her seat of Mackellar, telling Liberal Party supporters on Sydney's northern beaches that the "threat of terrorism" had convinced her she needs to remain in Parliament.
The 73 year-old former Speaker told guests at a Christmas drinks party at her Newport home on Tuesday evening that she had been "exonerated" over the "choppergate" expenses scandal and was energised to serve another three year term as an MP.
Bronwyn Bishop says she will recontest her seat of Mackellar, telling Liberal Party supporters on Sydney's northern beaches that the "threat of terrorism" had convinced her she needs to remain in Parliament.
Mrs Bishop's future has become a source of angst up to the highest levels of the Liberal Party and her decision to abandon Tony Abbott when his leadership came under attack has dented her grip on the local Liberal branches – described by one Liberal as once being "North Korean" in its dominance.
"They massively have the shits with her for voting for Turnbull," said a Liberal source, referring to branches in Mackellar closest to Mr Abbott's neighbouring electorate of Warringah.
But Mrs Bishop's disloyalty went further, Fairfax Media has can reveal.
In the days after Mr Abbott's downfall, she lobbied senior Liberals, including Christopher Pyne, to be appointed a minister in Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull post-spill reshuffle.
A cabinet minister confirmed discussions did take place but said it was never a possibility she could serve as a minister after choppergate, widely viewed as one of the final nails in the coffin of Mr Abbott's prime ministership.
In a statement, a spokeswoman for Mrs Bishop confirmed she would recontest Mackellar but insisted she did not actively lobby for a ministerial appointment.
"At no time did Mrs Bishop make any approaches to join the ministry following Mr Turnbull becoming Prime Minister," she said.
Mrs Bishop is this week heading off on a sponsored "study tour" to Israel with fellow federal parliamentarians.
A source at the Newport soiree said Mrs Bishop was playing to her ageing bedrock of 48 Liberal preselectors in Mackellar when she nominated the terror threat as the reason to extend her political career into its fourth decade.
"The terror stuff goes down well with preselectors but this talk of being exonerated on choppergate is losing some people in the party and the electorate," they said.
The Australian Federal Police chose not to pursue Mrs Bishop's infamous $5000 helicopter ride to a Liberal fundraiser in Geelong and the so-called "Minchin Protocol" meant Mrs Bishop was allowed to pay back the bill to the Department of Finance without any consequences.
The hard right in the Coalition has abandoned Mrs Bishop over her perceived treachery against Mr Abbott but it has little sway in Mackellar and it remains to be seen whether the left and centre right factions will use their numbers to protect her from challenge at preselection, due in April or May next year.
Some suspect a deal was struck whereby NSW Liberal Party president and leading "moderate" Trent Zimmerman was given a clear run at Joe Hockey's recently vacated seat of North Sydney by the centre right in return for the left supporting Mrs Bishop in the neighbouring seat of Mackellar.
But a Liberal source said Mrs Bishop's future is being discussed "right up to the level of the federal director".
"People are having a look at her value for the future," the source said.
Fairfax Media understands the leading challenger will be Jason Falinksi, a former president of the Young Liberals.
Mr Falinski, who is a former Warringah councillor, has a good pedigree for the new-look Coalition having guided Mr Turnbull's entrance into Parliament in 2004 as his campaign manager.
He also briefly dated Mr Turnbull's daughter Daisy and was the treasurer of the blue ribbon Point Piper branch of the Liberals.
He is the chief executive of a healthcare supplier and also works part-time in a strategy role for NSW Transport Minister Andrew Constance.
A number of expected contenders were at Mrs Bishop's Christmas drinks, including Mr Falinski, stockbroker Campbell Welsh, former state MP for Pittwater Jim Longley, and Paul Nettelbeck, director of marketing and external relations at Southern Cross College.
Also at the party was Damien Jones, Mrs Bishop's former chief-of-staff as Speaker. It has long been speculated that Mrs Bishop wants him to succeed her in Mackellar
Mr Jones has insisted that Mrs Bishop has a career ahead if she chooses. He recently told the Manly Daily: "One thing she has done well over the years is entrench herself in her electorate".
The only person to publicly declare as a candidate for preselection, as reported by Fairfax Media in August, is Bill Calcraft a former Wallaby and businessman who remains close to his Grand Slam-winning Wallabies coach Alan Jones.

Perhaps Turnbull should give him a job on the proviso he agrees to STFU.
The failures of the west to interrogate its own actions in the middle east continues to exacerbate matters. Over the past couple of days it has emerged several dozen innocents were killed in air raids in Syria. This was reported only because of independent journalists. The white house is investigating - read bury the results. Of course these are experienced by the locals as murders.
